On 6/20/25 at 6:27 a.m. I closed the deal on my first ever merriams turkey in Wyoming which completed my grand slam. This guy came in like clockwork after a quick round of excited cutting and gave me an opportunity about 35 yards and my old 870 did the job. I couldn’t be happier and still excited thinking back the memories from this season. After a little bit of persuasion I shot up to Montana to hunt and camp on public land and finished up my spring turkey season. Big shout out to for putting me in the spot and letting my dog and I hang out for a couple of days.

Congratulations to my little buddy Avery on his first bird! This guy came in gobbling off the roost and strutted into my single hen decoy set. He made an excellent shot with my .410 at whopping 10 yards 30 minutes after pitch down. He retrieved his bird and we sat tight for about an hour then three more birds came in to the same set. So I opted to use the .410 as well and we celebrated a double. Another successful turkey camp in Oklahoma. Thanks to all parties involved in helping us achieve this goal.

Finally got it done on the last day of season. This bird came in mid morning after we made a short couple hundred yard move with our blind. He came in silent once he spotted our single hen decoy from a couple hundred yards away. Started off Friday evening in Elliot county with my buddy James trying to find a mountain bird to get on. After no sign or sounds we headed back last night and heard one gobble before dark. I happened to miss a bird opening morning with James because I was so shaken up and he was here to watch me close the season out with a bang and gain redemption. Thanks for hanging out, look forward to next spring!

Congratulations to .johnson12 on his first Franklin County bird and his final tag here in Kentucky.This bird came in about 30 minutes of being on the ground gobbling and strutting the whole way. Heck of a fun spring morning and Waffle House to top it off. We made an unsuccessful set after lunch and cleaned the bird up. Now off to catch some bluegrass music.
