Thank you. Thank you to all that took part in clinics, lessons, programs, and the love of our sport here in Frankfort.
I was placed as President of this board 3 years ago. I didn’t want the position. I was never formally contacted to be the President from previous leader. It was my understanding that the previous President had been asked by every local high school to not show up and help, was known to say crude comments to female players, and rumor has it exposed himself to females in the past.
My name was dropped, without my knowing, to take over the board. Sherry Bray, Travis Trent, and I joined the board. My goal was to protect the integrity of our youth and female players. We did the best we could, through a pandemic as well, and we had lots of fun tennis in Frankfort!!!
Life happens. We have been unsuccessful in finding new board members and so FTA as we know it is formally closed at this time. The left over funding we have had been provided to the “Melinda Lewis Scholarship” fund.
Thank you for the volunteers, the great development, the friendships, and trying to instill integrity in our local tennis community.
Sadly this association now returns to the city parks department and returns with the previous male in charge.
