Went for a short hike on the Skinny dip falls trail Saturday. Brought the little man along. The water was cold as hell like all mountain water but very refreshing in this humidity!

Big shout out to these 2 beautiful awesome ladies Anita Reimer and Kathlene. Every Monday and Thursday morning they show up at around 5:50am and they put in work. We have been working together for over 2 years now and these two individuals I now call family. So if anyone wants to pick on them, you’ll have to go through me first! 😉
Overall, health is not a short term goal, health is a long term lifespan goal. The goal is to stay happy and healthy mentally and physically. I would rather work with 5 clients who want to focus on sustaining a healthy weight and focus on healthy biomarkers. Rather, working with 10 clients who want to loose 20 pounds in 6 weeks so they can go to the beach and get drunk for 5 days only to gain that weight back!
I got into this field to understand the qualities that make a person healthy and I can assure you a 6 pack doesn’t automatically make you a healthy person. A healthy person is someone who is mentally happy but also understands the value of exercise to hold a healthy weight and have healthy biomarkers (Blood pressure, heart rate, reducing the risk of heart disease, etc.). It is our fields hope that more doctors will recognize that exercise is the best medicine and eventually they will begin to prescribe trainers for that reason. As a matter of fact, it’s heading in that direction but not fast enough! Our nation is not healthy, we have way too much access to processed and high sugar foods. If you want to elevate yourself, definitely set short term goals but know that health IS a long term goal.
Keep up the hard work ladies!
Not pictured are a few others that come to our evening classes and also strive for that same success: Mike Zehner Laura Mellon Scott Pendleton and Joseph Robert Warnick. You guys rock, keep up the hard work! 🤘💪🏋️‍♀️👌

Repost from the American College of Sports Medicine:

Evidence shows that physical activity reduces the risk of fall-related injuries in older people by 32-40%, yet only 27% of older adults are achieving the recommended amount of weekly physical activity.

Dr. Loretta DiPietro discusses the scientific evidence supporting physical activity for improved physical function in aging adults in the latest on the ACSM Blog:
