Permit Scam Alert: Please Read & Share
The Village of Fox Lake is urging residents and local businesses to stay alert for permit‑related phishing scams. Scammers are impersonating city and county officials and targeting people applying for building, planning, or zoning permits.
Important reminders:
✔️The Village of Fox Lake will NEVER request permit fee payments online.
✔️Fees must be paid in person at Village Hall or by mailing a check to 66 Thillen Road.
✔️Credit card payments are accepted in person only.
✔️Do not share personal information by email unless you are certain the message is from Village staff.
✔️Always check the sender’s email address for correct spelling and the official Village domain.
✔️When in doubt, visit your city, village, or county’s official website for scam alerts.
