Hey everyone! It’s been awhile since I had an update on Goose and Maverick. There have been 2 court dates and nothing has been resolved and heading to another in the morning. We are still hoping we get custody of these horses but we will just have to wait and see. As far as Goose and Maverick….. they are doing incredibly well!! They have healed from their wounds and definitely on the road to recovery, thanks to everyone that donated and shared their story. The wounds have completely healed, Goose’ knee will always stay big from the injury but it has healed. They have gained weight and look like different horses. We still have to continue feeding and caring for them so any donations is not too small. Thank you all so much as their vet bills have been covered up to this point❤️

UPDATE: Hey everyone, I wanted to give an update on the boys. We now have names for them as one of our precious donators wanted to name them ”Goose” and “Maverick” ! “Goose” the older stallion needed to be evaluated last week as his wounds were not healing at all even being on antibiotics so I called Dr. Patrick Sullivan out to evaluate…. The news wasn’t too good, his wounds were becoming worse and he recommended hospitalization. I called Palmetto Equine and based on Dr. Sullivan’s diagnosis their treatment estimate was around $6,000. Dr. Sullivan evaluation was $330 alone, along with more medication and pain meds. Everyone I love my animals and take good care of them, but it would be very hard to spend that amount on an animal that still may not even make it and has a poor prognosis. Dr. Kate agreed to come out and clean the wounds as her compassion for animals is over the top. So yesterday “Goose” went into surgery, once opening the wound over his eye Dr. Kate pulled out numerous chips of bone and cleaned out all the infection and same with his knee, after X-raying his knee, the main joint hasn’t been affected but still infection was present. She also cut the proud flesh off of “Maverick’s wound and we applied caustic powder to continue to dissolve the proud flesh still around the wound area. It is hard to imagine these poor horses had to endure these wounds with no treatment for months with no care in the hands of their owner. Yesterday total bill was $901 much more easier to afford. I appreciate all donations that we have gotten as of today but more is needed to continue for their care. On a good note Dr. Kate said they are gaining weight! Hey friends, a lot of you that know me know that I rescue a lot of dogs, cats and horses and take in animals that people no longer want and or are going to be euthanized. A lot of you know I never ask for help and take care of them out of my own pocket, but this time…..this time I have no choice. Last Friday I was called to help take in 2 stallions from the 38 starving horses being seized. Folks, they need your help, I am their voice, they desperately need your help with feed and hay and their medical needs as they have open infected wounds and hoping we have caught it in time and treating them with antibiotics. I will be posting their progress in their long journey to bring them back to the magnificent animals they are as it will be a long road to recovery for them. Hey guys....our family here at Kross Performance Horses want to welcome our new boarders Emmery and "Cowboy" to the farm! We are so excited to have this awesome team to watch them grow together and achieve their dreams. I am so privileged to be able to work with such an amazing horse and rider.
