5/27/26: Two great guys. Jim Wilter holding a nice 2 plus pound smallmouth and Jason Henry with a dandy of his own. Water was 60.1 degrees. But the bass have not spawned. Half the fish were caught on top water. Still some openings, check us out. www.johndayriverfishing.com

5/26/26: Great day (5 hours of fishing) on the Private Reservoir. We quit fishing after 5 hours at 12:30. It was overcast all day and Erroll Claire ende up with 96 largemouth. ALL CAUGHT ON TOPWATER. Give us a call and get a date to catch lots of largemouth bass. www.johndayriverfishing.com

5/23/26: The John Day River is slowly going down, and the flow is 744 CFS today, it is projected to be 638 CFS on 5/29. The Clackacraft Max boats that Mah-Hah Adventure uses can get through as low as 25 CFS ( there was two years in the last 20, when I was fishing at 18 CFS on the Service Creek gauge). Good News the bass are everywhere and the water temp is 75-82 degrees at those low flows. Their metabolism is directly tied to the water temp; higher the temp the more and faster they are feeding. Mah-Hah Adventures also offers Ranger Trips where they use their Ranger side by sides and take folks to fishing holes along the river without having to float a boat. 5/6/26: Great day on the water with longtime client Dale Smith and John Menefee. Good weather and warming water hitting just over 50 degrees.
