One thing to look out for is:

Carbon Crowns Are Out, Multi-Material Heads Are In — The 2026 Driver Trend Explained

Just when golfers finally got used to carbon crowns dominating the driver landscape, OEMs are introducing a new wave of multi-material constructions blending titanium, carbon, and polymer composites in strategic zones.

Why? Simple: stability and energy transfer. Manufacturers are finding that a hybrid shell can fine-tune CG placement far more precisely than traditional full-carbon heads, especially for mid-speed players who struggle with consistent launch windows.

Testing across multiple manufacturers shows:

· Higher MOI despite lighter head weight

· More consistent spin across off-center hits

· Up to 4–6 yards of ball speed retention on heel strikes

Bottom Line: If you tend to “greet the inside of the ball” more often than you'd like to admit, the next generation of drivers might be your best friend.

Expect most major OEMs to debut multi-material lineups before spring demo days.

A common fitting debate, so here’s the breakdown:

Adjust Loft First if you're struggling with launch or spin control.

Change Shaft if you're seeing inconsistent strike patterns or timing issues.

Do Both when buying a new driver — the head/shaft pairing matters more than either component alone.

Rule of Thumb: If your miss changes every hole… it’s probably the shaft.
