What if stress isn’t always working against you?

What if, sometimes, it is your body preparing you to rise to the challenge in front of you?

Think about exercise. When we work out, we intentionally place stress on the body. We challenge our muscles, heart, lungs, balance, and endurance—not to break ourselves down, but to give the body a reason to adapt and become stronger.

But here’s the key: growth requires both challenge and recovery.

Life can work similarly. Stress may cause your heart to beat faster, your breathing to quicken, and your energy to rise. We often interpret those feelings as, “I can’t handle this.” But what if your body is actually saying, “I’m preparing you for this”?

That doesn’t mean all stress is good or that we should ignore chronic stress, trauma, or exhaustion. It means we may not have to fear every stress response we experience.

This week, I’m challenging you to stop asking, “Why is this happening to me?” and consider asking:

“How could this be preparing me?”

Watch Kelly McGonigal’s TED Talk, “How to Make Stress Your Friend,” and let me know what stands out to you:

Challenge. Recover. Adapt. Become stronger.

Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positiv...

Maybe you don’t need more motivation.

Maybe you need to give yourself PERMISSION.

Permission to want more.
Permission to change your mind.
Permission to outgrow what once fit.
Permission to prioritize yourself.
Permission to become a woman you haven’t met yet.

Hey Sis—

You are allowed to evolve.

In fact, I hope you do. 💛

Hey sis, you’ve identified the goal.

You want to become stronger.

Improve your nutrition.

Have more energy.

Build the business.

Advance your career.

Write the book.

Finally begin the next chapter.

But have you stopped to consider the woman you’ll need to become to accomplish it?

Your future self isn’t waiting somewhere in the distance. She is being shaped by the habits, boundaries, and commitments you choose today.

So, look at your calendar.

Where does she appear?

Where have you protected time for her health, growth, faith, dreams, or development?

If you can’t find her, that isn’t failure.

It’s information—and an invitation to make a different decision.

My newest blog, “Becoming: Your Future Self Must Appear on the Page,” explores how to stop giving your future self whatever energy is left and intentionally make room for the woman you’re becoming.

The woman I am becoming is someone who __________.

Someone asked me, “How often do you work out?”

My answer? Every single day. 💪🏾

But hear me out—every day doesn’t mean I’m doing a hard workout every day.

Some days I strength train. Some days I take Pure Barre. And on my recovery days, I’m walking, hiking, getting outside, or simply moving my body in a way that feels good. 🌿

And yes, I own a fitness studio and teach fitness—but teaching a workout and doing your own workout are two very different things. When I’m teaching, I’m there to coach, correct, encourage, and deliver an experience for someone else.

I still have to make time to train my body.

Because I’m not just working out for how I look.

I’m building a body strong enough to support the life I’m creating, the people who depend on me, and the woman I’m becoming.

For the woman who’s doing it all, your health can’t always be the thing that gets whatever time is left over.

You need a strong body to carry a big life. ❤️

And if you need an accountability partner…I’m willing to loan out Keva. 🐶😂

She is ALWAYS down for a walk, hike, or run. No excuses accepted.

Sis, who gets the BEST of you?

Your career?
Your family?
Your team?
Your responsibilities?
Everyone who needs something?

And then…you get whatever is left?

We need to change that. 💛

Taking responsibility for yourself doesn’t mean you stop loving, serving, leading, or supporting the people around you.

It means recognizing that you matter in the equation, too.

Your health matters.
Your energy matters.
Your peace matters.
Your dreams matter.
The woman you’re becoming matters.

You can love people without carrying everything for them.

You can serve without disappearing.

You can be generous without abandoning yourself.

✨ Today’s challenge: Identify ONE thing you’ve been carrying that isn’t actually yours to carry—and ONE way you’ll invest that energy back into yourself.

It’s time to become the leader of your own life.

XOXO,
Coach Jacki 💛

What does the woman you’re becoming need from you TODAY?

Not next month.

Not when work slows down.

Not when the kids need you less.

Not when you finally get through that never-ending to-do list. 😉

Today.

Maybe it’s:

💪🏾 Movement
🥗 Nourishment
🧠 Mental space
😴 Rest
🙏🏾 Prayer
❤️ Connection
✨ Joy
🚧 A boundary

Wellness isn’t one thing.

It’s learning to care for the whole woman responsible for building the life you want.

So here’s your Wellness Wednesday challenge:

Choose ONE way to nourish yourself today—and actually do it.

Then come back and tell me what you chose. 👇🏾

We’re not just building successful lives.

We’re building women capable of enjoying them.

XOXO,
Coach Jacki
