Here we train in the discipline of catch as catch can wrestling a.k.a. More specifically a "No pin" version of Catch meaning pinning of one's shoulders to the mat doesn't equal victory. However, a core philosophy of ours is to act as if pins were in play only fighting off of our backs when necessary while striving for continuous submission or reversal attempts. We train for self defense and compet

ition, we emphasize the difference between the two but believe that competition should one choose to do so only makes one better. We do sparring (rolling) during classes as a way to experiment, pressure test techniques, and improve on skill sets. Here at FWGC we have a very relaxed training atmosphere and try to make everyone feel welcome to train with us. We emphasize the "club" aspect of our title in that we have no acadamy "uniforms," we don't have any rolling policies other then common courtesies, and there's no policing of much other than basic hygiene (trimmed fingernails, etc.) We hope to see you soon! Our Story

Catch-as-Catch-Can is defined as “using or making do with whatever means are available.” Jiu-jitsu translates to “the gentle art” and Judo translates to “the gentle way.” Catch as Catch Can Wrestling is regarded throughout the world as “the violent art,” due to its aggressive nature when compared to these other popular styles. It is also the father of Olympic Freestyle Wrestling (once commonly known as Amateur Catch as Catch Can) and Collegiate Folkstyle Wrestling.
