Mid-Season Championship Points Report

Points as of May 20th

The 2026 TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club season has reached the mid-season mark, and the championship battle is starting to take shape. Through a strong opening stretch filled with big car counts, slick track conditions, close racing, surprise finishes, and dominant performances, the points race remains highly competitive from the top spot through the rest of the field.

At the top of the standings, Colton Patterson leads the championship chase with 801 points. Patterson has been one of the most consistent drivers of the season so far, highlighted by a thrilling win at Heart O’ Texas Speedway after making a strong move for the lead late in the feature. His ability to stay near the front, capitalize on restarts, and finish races has helped him build the mid-season points lead.

Sitting second is Rawdy Hull with 740 points, just 61 points behind Patterson. Rawdy has kept himself firmly in championship contention with steady runs and strong finishes throughout the early part of the season. With plenty of racing still left, the gap between first and second remains very manageable.

In third is Chance Hull with 686 points, 115 points back from the lead. Chance has shown race-winning speed multiple times this season, including a dominant performance at RPM Speedway where he controlled the feature and proved he is one of the fastest cars in the field. Even with some tough breaks in previous events, Chance remains very much in the championship hunt.

Darren Hull currently holds fourth with 642 points, followed by Ricky Smith in fifth with 587 points. Both drivers have kept themselves inside the top five with solid, consistent performances. As the season continues, every heat race, every passing point, and every feature finish will become more important.

The middle of the standings is extremely tight. Dusty Jager sits sixth with 548 points, while Clayton Haapapuro is seventh with 500 points. Just behind them, Dillon Payne has 495 points, only five points behind Clayton. Landon Bellows and Don Crosby round out the top ten with 475 and 469 points, making the race inside the top ten one of the closest battles to watch.

Several drivers have also made strong impressions throughout the first half of the season. Richard Brooker sits 11th with 442 points, followed by Mason Jager with 402, DJ Jarrett with 388, and Jeff Patterson with 379. Jeff has already played a major role in one of the most memorable races of the season, leading laps at Boyd Raceway and finding himself in position to battle for the win after a wild turn of events.

The season has already produced several standout storylines. At Heart O’ Texas Speedway, the series faced a challenging slick racing surface that tested every driver in the field. Colton Patterson took advantage of a late-race opportunity and drove to an impressive feature win. At RPM Speedway, Chance Hull showed dominant speed, leading the way and proving how strong the Viper Racing Chassis program can be. At Boyd Raceway, the club returned after being away since 2023, and the feature delivered an unpredictable finish with multiple contenders seeing their night change quickly.

With the second half of the season still ahead, the championship is far from decided. Patterson may hold the lead, but Rawdy Hull, Chance Hull, Darren Hull, and Ricky Smith are all close enough to apply pressure. Behind them, the battles from sixth through fifteenth remain tight, and one strong night could quickly move a driver several positions up the standings.

The TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club has already delivered exciting racing, strong fields, and plenty of drama through the first half of the year. As the championship chase continues, consistency, clean finishes, and late-season momentum will decide who comes out on top.

Chance Hull Dominates RPM Speedway Return for TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club

CRANDALL, Texas — On the second night of a doubleheader weekend, the TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club made its long-awaited return to RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas. After a few years away from the quarter-mile facility, series directors, drivers, and teams were excited to be back at one of the area’s exciting racing venues.

The 20-car field put on a strong show throughout the night with two competitive heat races that helped set the stage for an action-packed 20-lap A Feature.

Starting on the front row for the feature would be James Jarrett in the 85X and Richard Brooker in the 51 Viper Racing Chassis. When the green flag dropped, it was Chance Hull in the 17 Viper Racing Chassis who wasted no time charging to the lead.

From there, Hull never looked back.

Despite multiple cautions throughout the 20-lap feature, Hull was nearly perfect on every restart. Each time the field was bunched back together, the 17 car fired off strong and quickly rebuilt his advantage. No one had anything for Hull, as he led green to checkered, pacing all 20 laps and taking the win by an impressive 4.8 seconds.

While Hull controlled the race out front, the battle behind him was where the action heated up.

James Jarrett held the second position early before Jeff Patterson in the 27P Patterson Racing Suspensions machine worked his way into the runner-up spot. Patterson tried to keep pace, but Hull’s lead continued to grow.

Behind Patterson, Dillon Payne in the 2K put together one of his strongest runs of the season. After some early-season struggles, Payne found speed at RPM Speedway and worked the bottom groove around the tires to move into contention. He eventually battled his way past Patterson and into the second position.

Friday night feature winner Colton Patterson in the 32P was another hard charger to watch. Starting eighth, Patterson worked his way through a tight pack of cars while battling with Dustin Jager in the 12 for a top-five position. As the laps wound down, Colton moved from the top side to the bottom and began closing in on Dillon Payne and Jeff Patterson.

With two laps to go, Colton Patterson made his move down the back straightaway, driving underneath Payne entering turn three to take over the second spot. Patterson would hold on to finish runner-up behind Hull.

Payne crossed the line third after a strong night in the 2K, while Dustin Jager made a late move to edge past Jeff Patterson at the line for fourth. Jeff Patterson rounded out the top five.

Heat race winners on the night were Dillon Payne in Heat 1 and Jeff Patterson in Heat 2.

It was a great night of racing at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, and the TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club is grateful to be back at the amazing facility. The club looks forward to returning to RPM Speedway for more racing action later this season.

Colton Patterson Wins Friday Night Thriller at Heart O’ Texas Speedway

The TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Series kicked off its doubleheader weekend Friday night at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, with a strong 32-car field on hand. Drivers were challenged all night by a dry, slick racing surface that made passing difficult and put car control at a premium.

The front row for the 20-lap A Feature consisted of Ryan Stoy in the No. 20 and Kaegen Moore in the JDR No. 1K. Stoy jumped out to the early lead before a caution slowed the field three laps into the race. When the green flag returned, Stoy again paced the 24-car field, but engine trouble would end his night early and hand the top spot over to Brady Ricks in the No. 5M.

That opened the door for a battle near the front as Colton Patterson, Dillon Spreen, and others began working their way into contention. Another caution reset the field with Ricks leading, Patterson in second, and Spreen in third. On the restart, Patterson made a strong move to the inside of Ricks entering turn one and took over the race lead.

From there, the fight for the top five intensified. Patterson led while Brady Ricks, Dylan Budnik, Dillon Spreen, and Kaegen Moore traded positions behind him. Budnik, who had transferred from the B Feature and started 13th, began charging forward on the low side around the tires and eventually worked his way into second.

A late caution set up a battle for the win between Patterson and Budnik. Budnik made several attempts to take the lead, but Patterson continued to hold him off while working the top side of the speedway. As the field came to the white flag, it looked as though Patterson was headed for his third Lone Star win of the season, but another caution in turns three and four set up a green-white-checkered finish.

Over the final two laps, Patterson and Budnik raced side-by-side for the lead. Coming to the white flag, Budnik challenged hard on the bottom while Patterson stayed committed to the outside. Down the back straightaway and into turns three and four, the two remained door-to-door with hard charger Easton Sargisson closing in from third.

At the checkered flag, Colton Patterson in the 32P came away with the victory, earning his third win of the season with the TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Series. Dylan Budnik finished second after winning the B Feature and charging from 13th, while Easton Sargisson completed an impressive run from 16th to third as the hard charger of the race.

Rounding out the top five were Dillon Spreen in fourth and Kaegen Moore in fifth after a strong night in the JDR No. 1K.

The B Feature win went to Dylan Budnik in the 25T, who went on to finish second in the A Feature. Heat race winners included Ricky Smith, Mason Mach, Ryan Stoy, and Rawdy Hull. A special moment of the night came in Heat Race 2, won by Mason Mach, with his dad Thomas Mach in attendance after a long stay in the hospital. The club was happy to see Thomas back at the track.

Total Care Lone Star Dwarf Car Club Race Report

Boyd Raceway — Boyd, Texas

Friday, May 8, 2026

The Total Care Lone Star Dwarf Car Club returned to Boyd Raceway on Friday night for the first time since 2023, bringing a 15-car field and plenty of action to the fast North Texas oval. With two competitive heat races setting the stage, the 20-lap A Feature delivered a finish few would have predicted.

Jeffrey Patterson in the 27P started from the pole and quickly jumped out to the early lead. A few laps into the race, the caution came out when Dylan Payne suffered mechanical issues at the top of turns three and four, ending his night early.

On the restart, Patterson again fired off strong and held the lead, but the 17 of Chance Hull was on the move. Hull worked his way from the fourth restarting position to the back bumper of the 27P and eventually made the pass for the lead. Hull paced the field for several laps before entering heavy lap traffic.

As Hull charged into turns three and four, he caught slower traffic near the top of the track. Misjudging his entry speed, Hull barely clipped the situation wrong, spun at the top of turn three, and saw his strong run come to an unfortunate end.

That handed the lead back to Jeffrey Patterson, but the race was far from over.

On the ensuing restart, Colton Patterson, who started seventh in the 32P, found himself right on Jeffrey’s back bumper. Colton stayed patient, made his move, and eventually slipped past the 27P to take command of the race. Once out front, Colton drove away, building a lead of more than three seconds over second place.

Colton Patterson went on to capture the 20-lap A Feature win, marking his second Lone Star Dwarf Car Club feature victory of the season.

Jeffrey Patterson came home second, giving Crockett Patterson Construction and Plumbing Racing a strong 1-2 finish. The night was also a big one for Patterson Racing Suspension Shocks, with PRS-equipped cars sweeping the top five.

Dusty Jager finished third, Darren Hull came home fourth, and Rawdy Hull rounded out the top five.

Rawdy Hull Captures First Feature in the First Race of the North vs South 3 race Shootout!

ELMOTT, Texas — The TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club made its second trip of the season to Heart O’ Texas Speedway, where a strong 32-car field delivered exciting action all night long through heat races, the B-Main, and the 20-lap feature. The event also marked the first round of the three-race North-South Shootout against the Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas.

When the green flag dropped for the feature, Rawdy Hull put the Gatlin No. 18 on point from the pole and jumped out to the early lead. Not far behind, Chance Hull came charging from the 7th starting spot, slicing through the field and taking over the lead on lap 3.

Hull looked poised to run away with it, stretching his advantage to nearly four seconds before a string of cautions erased the gap and tightened the field back up. Over the closing laps, the battle intensified as Chance Hull began battling engine trouble, allowing the pack to close in and setting up a thrilling multi-car fight for the lead involving Rawdy Hull, Colton Patterson, Brandon Spreen, and Jeffrey Patterson.

At one point, Colton Patterson briefly grabbed the lead with an aggressive slider in turns 3 and 4, but the move did not stick, costing him momentum and allowing Brandon Spreen in the No. 88T and Jeffrey Patterson in the PRS No. 27P to get by.

The race was then slowed by a dramatic red flag when Toby Blackney got upside down multiple times after contact in turn 2. Fortunately, Blackney climbed from his car under his own power and was uninjured.

That set up a two-lap shootout to the finish, and the sliders came fast and often. Jeffrey Patterson, making his first start of the season, lined up second on the Delaware double-file restart and threw everything he had at Rawdy Hull over the final laps. But Hull found the top groove and the drive off to be the winning combination, holding strong to score his first-ever TotalCare Lone Star Dwarf Car Club victory in impressive fashion.

Jeffrey Patterson finished a strong second in his season debut, while Brandon Spreen turned in his best run of the year with a third-place finish, also making him the top-finishing DCRST driver. Darren Hull came home fourth, with Colton Patterson rounding out the top five after a hard-fought effort on the technical, top-dominant racing surface.

The “Dillons” occupied positions six through eight, with Dillon Payne finishing sixth, Dillon Coyne seventh, and Dylan Budnik eighth. Brady Ricks and Chris Ochoa completed the top 10.

In heat race action, James Jarrett picked up his first heat race win of the season in Heat 1. Dillon Spreen represented the DCRST side with the win in Heat 2, while Dylan Budnik captured Heat 3. In Heat 4, Jeff Patterson held off Chance Hull in a strong battle to score the win for the 27P.

The B-Main went to Dillon Coyne in the 12T, who punched his ticket into the feature with an impressive drive.

🏁 Hull Goes Back to Back to Pick Up Second Win of the Year at Rocket Raceway Park Opener

PARIS, Texas — The Total Care Lone Star Dwarf Car Club returned to Rocket Raceway Park for its second race of the 2026 season, with 18 cars on hand for an exciting night of racing action.

When the green flag dropped on the 20-lap A-Feature, Chance Hull wasted no time taking control. Starting on the outside of the front row in the Richard Brooker-owned No. 51 Viper Racing Chassis, Hull jumped to the early lead and never looked back, leading all 20 laps en route to a dominant victory.

Colton Patterson delivered a strong performance in the Crockett Patterson Construction and Plumbing, Patterson Racing Suspensions No. 32P. After starting third and battling early with Dusty Jager in the JDR Chassis 12, Patterson secured second and maintained a steady pace to the finish.

The battle for positions third through seventh provided the most excitement of the night, as Rawdy Hull, Ricky Smith, and Darren Hull — all representing the Gatlin Racing Viper Chassis camp — went door-to-door throughout the feature. Brent Mayfield and Dusty Jager stayed right in the mix as well. At the checkered flag, it was Rawdy Hull in third, followed by Ricky Smith, Darren Hull, Brent Mayfield, and Dusty Jager.

Landon Bellows earned Hard Charger honors, advancing from 15th to finish eighth in the No. 19 Viper Racing Chassis.

Rounding out the top 10 were Donald Crosby (9th) and Richard Brooker (10th), both making solid gains through the field.

Heat race victories went to Chance Hull (Heat 1) and Colton Patterson (Heat 2).
