🎓 Today marks a special milestone for the Johnson Legacy Project Foundation.

We are honored to announce that we have awarded our very first scholarship.

Our mission is to support students who have lost a parent by providing hope, encouragement, and assistance as they pursue their education. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Mike “Peewee” Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament, donated, and supported our foundation, we are able to make an impact in the lives of students facing unimaginable loss.

Meet our first scholarship recipient, Nicole Parisi:

"My name is Nicole Parisi and i’m a junior at Tarleton State University. I’m majoring in sports management with a minor in business law. On September 1 ,2025, I lost my mother in a car accident when her vehicle was struck by an intoxicated driver, which impacted my life in so many different ways. Nobody ever imagines it happening to them. My mind went to shock mode. I didn’t know what the next step was or what to do next as a 19 year old at the time. This past year has been the hardest thing I have ever had to face but in the midst of learning how to do life without my mom, God has shown up in big ways. Through family, community, and the amazing people he continues to place in my life. My life will forever be changed as I continue to learn how to navigate this new version of life but I am extremely grateful for God and all of the people he has given me to help me through this past year. I am so thankful for this scholarship and the opportunity the Johnson Legacy Project Foundation has presented me with. Being able to use my story to help others navigate their journey is something that I’m glad I am able to do and that some good has come from something that has deeply impacted me and my life."

Nicole, thank you for trusting us with your story and allowing us to be a small part of your journey.

This scholarship is more than financial support it is a reminder that no one has to walk through loss alone.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported the 2nd Annual Mike “Peewee” Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament this year.

We had 16 teams out on the course, and it was a great day of golf. We truly hope everyone had an amazing time. My mom, brother, and I are so grateful to see so many people come together to honor my dad and support something that means so much to our family.

Because of all of you, we were able to raise almost $8,000 to continue growing the Johnson Legacy Project Foundation and support students who have lost a parent.

Thank You – $9,000 Raised for a Greater Purpose!

We’re beyond grateful to everyone who made the Mike “Peewee” Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament such a success!

To our players, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Because of your generosity and participation, we raised $9,000 that will go directly toward scholarships and helping us make the transition to an official nonprofit for next year’s event.

This tournament was more than just a day of golf—it was a celebration of Peewee’s life, a show of community, and a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together.
