Don’t Tell My Wife Stables was formed to allow individuals the opportunity to participate in affordable thoroughbred ownership and introduce them to the pageantry, thrills and excitement that thoroughbred racing brings. We are headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and currently manage 7 racing partnerships for over 60 member owners. We compete at racetracks such as Del Mar, Santa Anita Park, Keenela
nd, Churchill Downs, Fair Grounds, Louisiana Downs, Evangeline Downs, and Delta Downs. Since inception we have won 25 races, our winning percentage is 20% and have been in the money 47% of the time. We are unique by managing two very different types of partnerships that give our members a choice based on their goals, dreams, and finances;
Claiming partnerships with no monthly bills - we claim horses at the racetrack, run a few weeks later, and there are no monthly on-track expenses or bills to our member partners. Capitalization is typically in the $20,000 to $30,000 range. Yearling & 2 year old partnerships - we buy yearlings at Keeneland or 2 year olds in training at the Ocala Breeders Sale that have the pedigree and physical confirmation to compete at the highest levels of racing. We then campaign them in their 2 year old year of racing and beyond. Capitalization is typically in the $100,000 to $250,000 range and expenses are paid pro-rata by our member partners. Past experience has proven you can acquire high quality racing prospects at this level that have the potential to compete on the bigger stage.
2. Our full time trainer and bloodstock agent J. Keith Desormeaux has successfully selected and trained thoroughbreds for over 24 years, including several Breeders’ Cup horses, and recently, Ive Struck A Nerve who qualified for the 2013 Kentucky Derby before being injured. Keith is a true old school horseman who is extremely talented, honest, always puts the horse first, and gives his horses the best care and training possible.
