One of the best ways to begin understanding blind sports is to experience just how much skill, awareness, communication, and trust they require.

Ayaan came out to volunteer with our blind soccer team and quickly discovered how incredibly talented our athletes are.

These athletes aren’t simply “playing soccer without sight.” They are developing an entirely different set of skills and using sound, communication, movement, and awareness to compete at a high level.

We’re grateful for our volunteers who are willing to step into our athletes’ world, learn something new, and walk away with a greater appreciation for what they can do. 🧡

For Adewunmi, finding Metro Blaze meant more than finding a soccer team. It meant finding movement, purpose, community, and a place to belong after losing his sight.

His story is a reminder of why Metro Blaze exists.

We want blind and low-vision athletes to know that losing sight does not mean losing your ability to compete, your passion, or your place in sports.

🔥 NEXT FORT WORTH & DALLAS GOALBALL PRACTICE 🔥

Our next DFW goalball practice will be this September 26 from 12:30pm - 3:30pm!

Whether you’re:
👀 Curious about learning Goalball
🥅 Looking to sharpen your skills
💪 Wanting to stay active and compete
🤝 Interested in volunteering and supporting adaptive sports

we’d love for you to join us!

This practice is open to men and women of all experience levels. Beginners are absolutely welcome, so don’t be afraid to come try something new!

We are also actively looking for volunteers to help at practices throughout the season. Volunteers are a huge part of making Goalball possible, and no prior experience is required.
