Two years ago I became somewhat obsessed with wildflowers. This is also when I became a father.

Everything up until that point had been temporary. Homes, jobs, people, all of it could come and go as soon as you were ready for a change.

Suddenly though I was facing having a child and something that would be forever. Taking any time off could affect the rest of her life and even in the hard times you’re not allowed to just move on.

As I’m trying to wrap my head around this for the first time I noticed wildflowers and the fleeting nature of them. They do not wait and they do not last, one day there’s nothing then they’re blooming and then they’re gone.

Anyway I love being a father and husband and I love wildflowers so here’s a few pictures from this weekend and our family enjoying them.

This little girl wanted to let you know that this Saturday at 9am is hosting their first ever Turkey Trot. All abilities welcome as we will have a one mile walking loop, 5k running loop, or 10k bike loop. Pick one and go get after it!

Hopefully in the last two weeks you took time out of your life, time off of work, drove to a location, possibly waited in line and then voted. You did all of this because it’s an important thing to do.

Were there more hours in that day? I don’t believe so - so how do we create the same amount of time for our selves to go to the gym, or to a park, or walk around the block for our health?

It’s your civic duty to vote but it’s your duty to your self to give time to your own health. Unhealthy people cannot help themselves let alone their community or country.

I hope you realize this is a fitness post and not a political post. I don’t care who you voted for, honestly I don’t even care if you voted. But I do care about your health and I think you should too.

Fitness is anti-aging

I took a body scan last week and was very happy with the results. I’ve never consistently weighed 200 pounds and I am now holding that weight at 12% body fat. Pretty neat.

The second picture is me at 21 years old. The next picture is me at 32. I’m at least 30 pounds heavier but weight doesn’t mean very much at the end of the day.

What I hope you take from this post is you don’t have to accept the status quo. You also don’t have to work out every day, I look this way now working out 3 hours a week. 4 days, 45 minutes at a time.

You would be amazed at how quickly you can transform your body if you 1. Hire a trainer and 2. Prioritize you and your well being for once. Let’s chat.

We had a really good time at and wedding this weekend! Congrats to an awesome couple. How hot was my date though?
