My life looks night and day different than it did a decade ago. I was once hopeless and pursued unhealthy things to fill the God shaped hole in my heart. What was once selfish and useless, God made useful. Was once lacking vision and purpose, but now resourceful and walking in what God has for my life. Today I am thankful for my family and all the good things He’s brought into my life. Before any of these good things came into fruition, I read about these good things in great books and especially my Bible. Though the learning never stops, I am grateful for the seasons of solitude spent in these books.

Today was a very special day that I will cherish forever. I woke up and trained for the first two hours of my day, and then got the opportunity to take my son to his first dentist appointment at the same office where I had my first teeth cleaning 30 years ago. When life gives you these moments, it’s important to put everything else on pause and soak it in. Thank you for taking good care of me and my family. Loving what you do and doing what you love are equally important. Allow me to explain. I train and coach individuals on a daily basis. During these times we train hard, other times we are involved with coming up with a solution for living. The solution will always remain the same… get outside of yourself and serve someone. With that being said, I love to serve, but sometimes I’m drained and need to recharge in order to operate at max capacity. During those times it’s doing what I love which involves spending time alone in reflection with my creator, devoting time to family, and sometimes sitting around playing guitar. Whatever you love to do, find something that brings you life!

A decade ago I had nothing in store for myself other then becoming the next George Jung of my generation. All of it revolved around pride and egotistical thinking… and a bunch of drugs. Today I am a husband, a father, a recovered alcoholic/addict, a successful business owner, and a coach , which is one of the best in the state when it comes to the coaching and treatment industry. All of this wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t make the decision to turn my will and life over to the care of God in 2013. For that I am forever grateful. Let’s choose to surrender our lives to something greater today.
