It was Jan 2017.

Goal: Don’t feel overwhelmed

Things that contribute:
- Perfectionism
- Narrow thinking > hyper-focus in the moment
- No clear vision of goals
- No clear “line in the sand” at work
- Children crying
- No outlet for stress
- Internalizing feelings
- Feeling out of control

👆🏽I found this journal entry yesterday while following a nudge to declutter.

It took me back in time.

Starting 2017, my daughter was 11 months & my son was 3.
Everyday was bottles, daycare, work.
I was just off pumping.
I was a leader in a Fortune 500 manufacturing company.

I tried working through this goal for 2.5 more years solo.
In a vacuum.
Making slow progress.

And, I’m seriously impressed with my 2017 self - she had 𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑧𝑖𝑛𝑔 insight.

✔️ Reconciling internal thoughts and expectations.
✔️ Wanting a vision and clear direction to work towards.
✔️ Establishing boundaries.
✔️ Recognizing she needed to care for herself, too.
✔️ Managing emotions.
✔️ Needing to find her own center.

Can you relate?

It’s been a journey for me to 2024.
A journey of growth each step of the way.
One that continues today.

Stop talking about what you aren't.

Instead…

Talk about what you ARE.

As women, we are quick to cut ourselves down for what we are lacking.
Instead of celebrating the strengths and characteristics that make us great.

As moms, we are quick to point out all the things we're not doing.
Instead of celebrating all the ways we are amazing moms.

And when we do these things, we lose sight of what we are:

Welcoming a child… your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd…

It's a transition.

One that my client Stephanie was stressed about.

After moving across the country, she was overwhelmed trying to put down roots, plan to welcome her 3rd child, and navigate the transition of becoming a family of 5.

Through 1-1 coaching, she:
- Unpacked assumptions about repeating her previous maternity experience
- Got clarity on the birth plan she wanted and communicated that to her doctor
- Increased her confidence around the transition
- Identified boundaries she needed
- Practiced acceptance of her approach to building community
- Opened up to help from new friends

Our house is on the tail end of “the crud” (🤣 medical term)

- not wanting to get others sick on the holidays

When you struggle to feel like you are good enough…

As a mom.
As the magic behind Elf on the Shelf.
As a host.
As a party planner.
As a spouse.
As an employee.
As a daughter.
As a boss.
As a friend.

Acknowledge your inner critic.
The one that feeds you that BS.

Tune out the voices of others.
Turn away from the thoughts of what others think.

Then, tune into yourself.

Tune into your higher knowing.
Into your essence.
