Here’s the life of a mom + author..

Mom puts her toddler to sleep by contact napping.

Mom puts toddler in pack n play to stay asleep and she gets back to editing her book.

Toddler wakes up.

Toddler sees that he’s not with mom anymore.

Toddler CLIMBS OUT of the pack n play & lays back on his mama.

Toddler falls back asleep almost immediately.

Mom edited 1 chapter before he did this.

The toddler sleeps peacefully.

The mom is a body pillow.

We woke up at midnight and went back to sleep almost right away.

We woke up at 3 & went back to sleep around 4:15am.

I got up at 6:15am aaaaaannnnndddd…. he got back up at 6:40am.

This….

Is the face of a mama who doesn’t know if she’s coming or going. 😩

But she does know.. sharing her quiet mornings with her toddler isn’t all bad even if he does throw a tooth brush passed her face, her phone on the floor, and his feet in her eyeball. 😅

Today.. it’s humid as all get out. This is not the September I planned for but I’m embracing it for sure.

With the toddler in a sleep regression.. any slow minute in the morning I can get.. I’m snatching it! 🥰

Today, that meant…

Laying in the bed quite a bit longer whenever I could. I got up to get the kids up & make sure they were getting ready for school & then.. with everything on my to - do list that I could’ve done with my free hour?

I did this.

I laid there. 😅

Sometimes doing nothing is doing everything! ☺️

My slow morning was interrupted by the toddler.

Today on the Toddler Chronicles..

Waking up extra early, after walking into his parent’s room and knocking us off balance to fall back asleep and theeeennn… waking up early this morning bc mommy wasn’t there 😅

Not to mention, any time he’s tried going back to sleep, it was interrupted.

This Monday is off to the funnest start ever right now 🤣 throw me a lifeline when y’all can because mama is going to need it lol

P.S… so thankful that my daughter goes off to school late today. It gives me a little bit of down time for sure.

One more day of August & then we are starting September off in HYPER SPEED! 💨

PTA meetings, cross country meets, dance, football games, book club, author event, school pictures, swim lessons, more time with hubby for sure & then..

Aaaaalll the book prep, final edits, sending books to an editor, getting the line up of Beta readers & ARC readers taken care of.. 😅

Not to mention.. getting started on book 2! If all goes well, it’ll make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift as it is a Valentine’s Day thriller! 😏🫣

Mama is BOOKed and busy this September!!
