🏆 LEGENDS OF THE LAKE CHAMPIONS 🏆

The 11U Baby Bulldogs are bringing home the hardware for the first time after an unforgettable championship run!
Huge congrats to Coach and

Pool play tested this team early. After a heartbreaking loss in game one where we surrendered a large lead late in the game, the girls bounced back with a big win before dropping another tough battle to close pool play. But this team never stopped fighting.

The Bulldogs caught fire in bracket play with a dominant first-round win that set up a matchup against the tournament’s #1 seed. Down 6-1, the girls refused to quit. With aggressive base running, timely hitting, fake bunts, and nonstop hustle, they fought back to keep the score close.

In the top of the final inning, trailing 7-5, the Bulldogs exploded for six runs to stun the #1 seed and punch their ticket to the championship game!

That set up a rematch with the team that handed us our first loss of the tournament but this time, the Bulldogs were not leaving without a title.

Charley Pagell was a beast on the mound all of Sunday, dominating in the championship game by allowing just 1 run, striking out 5, and giving up no walks. Backed by strong defense and aggressive at-bats, the Bulldogs finished the job together.

These girls have worked their butts off for this moment, and it showed every inning this weekend.

Happy 18th Birthday to #3 Kylie Sobucki!!

It’s hard to put into words what Kylie means to this program. She is one of the OG’s of this 18u squad. One of the few players who has been with me throughout my entire travel coaching career. Through all the seasons, practices, tournaments, wins, losses, and memories, Kylie has always been there.

On the field, she has been one of the most reliable pitchers I’ve ever had the privilege of coaching. When her number is called, she competes, throws strikes, and gives her team a chance to win every single time. Beyond pitching, Kylie has done just about everything you can do on a softball field, playing every position throughout her career except catcher. No matter where she was needed, she stepped up and got the job done. At the plate, she has always been a tough out. Kylie consistently finds ways to get on base, put pressure on defenses, and help her team succeed. Her value has never been limited to one position or one role, she has always been the definition of a team player.

The last few years haven’t always been easy. Like many athletes, Kylie has faced moments where she questioned whether she wanted to continue playing. What makes me proud is that she kept showing up, kept competing, and kept pushing forward. That perseverance has led her to the next chapter of her softball journey, and I couldn’t be happier to see her continue her career at Calumet College of St. Joseph this fall.

Off the field, Kylie is usually to herself, but those who know her best know how funny she can be when she lets her personality shine. She has a great heart, cares deeply about the people around her, and has been an incredible big sister and role model. The love she has for her family, especially her sister, is something that has always stood out.

Thank you for being one of the OGs and for helping build what this program has become. Watching you grow from a young player into a college athlete has been one of the greatest privileges of my coaching career.

Have a great day kiddo, you deserve it!

Happy Birthday to #1 Abby Sides!!

If there is one word that describes Abby, it’s tough. Whether she’s taking a bad hop, wearing a pitch, diving for a ball at third base, or battling through a long tournament weekend, she always seems to get right back up and keep going. Her toughness and grit set the tone for everyone around her. At the plate, Abby is as consistent as they come. She puts together quality at-bats, understands the game, and always seems to find a way to help her team succeed.

Today, Abby celebrated her birthday with her team and made the final out on our Championship run! Abby gets to wear two crowns today, Birthday Girl and CHAMPION!

Have a great day kiddo, you deserve it!
