The FWBLGA welcome meeting will be held Sep. 3 at 7:30 am and will begin it's 51st golfing season. Anyone wishing to join the group or has any questions please call Sue Damm at 862-2872. You do not have to be a member of the FWB golf course to join our organization. Dues are $45 with $15 going to the GHIN scoring system.

Horace Rawlins (5 August 1874 - 1940) was an English professional golfer who won the first U.S. Open Championship in 1895, so was the first winner of a "major" outside the UK.

Betsy King (born August 13, 1955) is an American professional golfer. She became a member of the LPGA Tour in 1977 and won six major championships and 34 LPGA Tour victories in all.

This day in golf history: October 18, 1970 - Kathy Whitworth wins LPGA Quality Chek'd Golf Classic.
Kathy Whitworth (born September 27, 1939) is an American professional golfer. Throughout her playing career she won 88 LPGA Tour tournaments, more than anyone else has won on either the LPGA Tour or the PGA Tour. In 1981 she became the first woman to reach career earnings of $1 million on the LPGA Tour. She is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
