From the BUTLER/REYNOLDS direction heading East on HWY 96, take a right to stay on HWY 96 (Sign says CONN 49 and 540 are straight, while HWY 96 veers right). Immediately after this turn at the next intersection, take a right on Gun Club Rd. Continue following the road as it transitons from pavement....

Today's "Family & Friends" silhouette match ended in classic fashion, with multiple tie breakers. It was exciting to watch unfold. Caroline is a junior shooter and competed in her first match today. She went 48 targets with experienced junior shooter Darren before we could crown today's winner. It took a 3" steel target at 150 yards with 22LRs and some wind before we found a challenge worthy enough for these two.
Congratulations to Darren for 1st place. Congratulations to Caroline for also scoring a perfect match score and displaying some excellent shooting skills.

Tomorrow (4/27) is April's "Family & Friends" smallbore silhouette match.
Gate opens for set-up and practice at 9:00am.
This is a 22LR, steel silhouette match for anyone from youth, to the whole family. Come see us!

Tomorrow's "Family & Friends" match is cancelled due to expected bad weather. The next Family and Friends match is April 27th. Gate will open at 9:00am.

Congratulations to Darren, FVGC's only junior bench rest shooter, for having the ambition to learn and compete in this sport at the highest level. Darren placed 75th out of 89 of the country's best rimfire shooters at the 2024 ARA Indoor National Championship this weekend. This was only his second ARA regulation match. He said he enjoyed it and will be back next year. Two other junior shooters from other states also competed against the best of the best veteran adults. The ARA recognized the juniors for their efforts with new bullet cases and encouraged veteran shooters to introduce more youth shooters to competitive shooting sports.

You can begin to learn and participate in the rimfire bench rest sport at FVGC on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, or every Thursday at the ROP match. There's also a "Family & Friends" rimfire match on the 4th Saturday of every month that will tailor to young shooters and whole families in a relaxed environment.
