Nestled in the Trans-Pecos, Lone Star Trail Outfitters brings a variety of hunts for today's sportsman. Trent Huckaby landowner/outfitter has been caring for the land for numerous years and brings his knowledge and care, to the land and the hunter. As one of the premier hunting ranches in the Trans-Pecos, every effort is given, to make sure our friends/guests have a memorable experience. Most outf
itters in this area can only offer you one type of deer hunt, either/or a whitetail hunt, or mule deer hunt. The ranch has a good balance of whitetail and mule deer, with a approx. ratio of 60 percent whitetail, and 40 percent mule deer. Our whitetails typically will score 120-130s, and our mule deer are typically in the 140-160 range, with a few going 170, in past years. Supplemental feeding year round gives our deer the added advantage and it shows in antler growth and body size. The high fence is centered on the ranch, and is 4,500 acres. A variety of exotics from fallow, to axis as well as whitetail and mule deer roam through out the pastures. The remaining 27,000 acres is low fence, and has whitetails, mule deer, javelina, Rio Grand turkey, dove, quail, feral goats and every so often elk. The terrain is deep draws and canyons with flats of mesquite and cedar. Water sources are tanks and windmills and are found through out the ranch. In past years Lone Star Trail has opened it's door to bow hunters, as the demand has risen. Numerous ground bow blinds also daunt the landscape, near feeders, trails and water. For our rifle hunters we offer nice blinds, most elevated with a few ground blinds. Nothing to hunt during the "off season". We have an abundance of turkeys and javelina, as well as the exotics. Our prices are for everyone to afford, and come have the "hunt of a lifetime" We have a spacious updated hunting lodge. It is 6 bedroom, 6 bathroom and can sleep 15 - 20 hunters. Satellite TV, BBQ pit(s), screened in porch with stove, walk in cooler give you all the luxuries.
