Today we have a very special Saturday edition of Sponsor Spotlight!

When Fort Smith Church League Baseball closed their doors, little did we know that they would continue on with their mission in new and unexpected ways- one of which was stopping by the Shelter to give us a sizable donation!

This is a perfect example of what makes our Fort Smith community so special. We went from not knowing these amazing people beyond a name to having them become a part of our extended Shelter family in a matter of days!

We are thankful for those that take time to recognize our cause, because we couldn't do it without you!

Thank you, Fort Smith Church League Baseball for being a shining example of teamwork in our community! We'll see you at the Spaghetti Dinner!

14AA STATE USSSA tournament being held in Ft Smith this weekend. Games all day today at Hunts, Forsgren, Hernreich and Field 5 in Alma. 26 teams from across the state in town this weekend.

Bracket play starts at 9am tomorrow at Hunts Forsgren and Hernreich. Looking forward to a great 3 days of baseball.

Thanks to our tournament crew for their work this weekend, especially the gate workers- Crystal, Madison, Hayden, Gehrig, Alex, Oakley, and Spencer- it was a long, hot weekend for them. The concession staff, once again, did a fantastic job. Was a good mix of local teams, as well as several from central Oklahoma. This was our 4th event this year with Arkansas Premier, thanks to Mike and Brandi for helping get Fort Smith back on the tournament map. One event left, 14AA STATE June 25-27.

Fort Smith Church Baseball League, an already established 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, looks forward to the City of Fort Smith choosing to continue our 50+ year partnership by renewing the FSCBL lease to manage the facilities at Kelley Park Ballfields. Over the past 50+ years, the partnership between the City of Fort Smith and FSCBL along with our member churches and local support has resulted in the outstanding facility that is Kelley Park Ballfields. FSCBL looks forward to continuing our partnerships to improve the park and expand opportunities for the youth of Fort Smith and the surrounding area. Key components to the plan are to begin offering softball and the formation of a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to those that may need it.

For the last 20 years, FSCBL has averaged 78 teams per year and has always been about providing a safe environment for all kids to learn to love the game of baseball, a place for them to make lifelong friends and to improve their skills. We appreciate your support and encourage you to contact the city directors and ask them to keep Fort Smith Church Baseball League in Fort Smith at Kelley Park.
