2027 NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FINALS RODEO UPDATE

The National High School Rodeo Association is excited to announce a change to the 2027 National High School Finals Rodeo.

After careful consideration between the Sandhills Global Event Center and the NHSRA, we have made the decision to move the 2027 NHSFR to a new location and date and we believe this is the best move for our members and our association.

We’re looking forward to bringing the NHSFR experience back to Gillette and creating an incredible week for our members, their families, and the entire rodeo community.

For a lot of local kids, tonight will be their very first time climbing on a sheep or a mini bull. All it takes is to light a little fire to get someone to love this western lifestyle and our world could sure use a few more cowboys. Bring the whole fam out and support our mutton busters, mini bulls and bull riders! Gizmo McCracken’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve that will keep you entertained all night long. Miss Miller Thriller queens are loaded up to throw out some sweet merch and will be there to sign autographs by the Miller FCCLA face painting table!

We’re dang excited to have the Bailey Pro Rodeo crew back — if you seen the bull riding last year you already know they’re top notch. You won’t find many people who care more about helping kids get started riding mini bulls than Mike with BarMac Bull Company and Billy is bringing the sheep back again, so you already know that’ll be a good time.

Come with an appetite - Scotty D's BBQ South Dakota is in town alongside the Legion Auxillary ladies and the Shriners are slingin snow cones again!

Bring the whole family and stay for the Carson Jeffrey concert with Sam Drey Music opening for him. Bring lawn chairs and set them up in the concert area if you want beforehand. There won’t be much lawn-chair room around the bull riding since we’ve got bleachers packed around it.

And to everyone coming through those gates tonight — THANK YOU. It means more than you probably realize that you’re willing to spend your hard-earned money on a ticket because you believe we’ve put together something worth coming to.

One last thing — take a look around at all those sponsor banners tonight. Those businesses believed in us when it was still just an idea. Without them, the Miller Thriller would probably still be something we were sitting around talking about instead of something we get to do tonight. Can’t wait to see everybody. Get ready for a Thriller!
