Reed Family Racing

Reed Family Racing This is the official Reed Family Racing page. In 2023 RFR added a second driver to the team with Logan Conner climbing behind the wheel.

Reed Family Racing is a dirt kart racing team owned by Tommy and Mallory Reed based out of Fort Oglethorpe Georgia. Formed in 2020, Reed Family Racing saw success in 2020 with our son TW Reed finishing 3rd in the Burris Georgia State Championship Series at Dawgwood Speedway in Chatsworth Georgia. In 2021, TW took Reed Family Racing to Victory Lane for the first time in the Burris Southeast Tour Se

ries'. We entered races across four different tracks and picked up wins at Dawgwood Speedway, Ashway Speedway and Sugar Limb Speedway. TW ended the year with two wins bringing his career total to ten and Logan picked up two in his rookie season. As 2024 begins we are gaining ground as contenders no matter the track. We live by the mantra "if you're not moving forward then you're moving backward." We've had such amazing support throughout the year and in 2024 we are determined to take these folks to Victory Lane.

A photo history of how we got to where we are.

As some of the photos show, these two boys know how to win. So to our sponsors, we promise that we’re all going to figure this out and get y’all to victory lane.

As always, we thank our family and friends, plus the fans and our sponsors, for the continued support.

Not every race weekend ends with a trophy, but every race weekend teaches you something.

Today Reed Family Racing made our first trip to Highland Rim Speedway with Logan while TW is in Indiana.

Practice #1 gave us a baseline to work from, and Logan immediately got to work learning a new track. By Practice #2, he had picked up over a second and a half from his opening laps and was looking much more comfortable behind the wheel.

Our goal for qualifying was simple: match the speed we found in practice. Unfortunately, as Logan took the green flag, he immediately pulled off the racing surface and went silent on the radio. Once he safely got the car stopped, he let us know the chain had come off.

No problem—we replaced the chain, made a few adjustments, and even changed gears in hopes of finding a little more speed.

During Round Robin practice, Logan once again got up to speed and was turning solid laps. However, coming off Turn 4, disaster struck a second time. The chain came off again, this time wrapping around the rear axle and locking it solid. The car instantly spun 360 degrees with all four tires smoking.

In what was probably the save of the day, Logan kept the car off the outside wall and brought it safely back to pit road to a round of applause from fans along the backstretch.

Unfortunately, the issue was once again the chain. After a lengthy inspection and troubleshooting session, we still couldn't identify the root cause. Rather than risk major damage during the feature, we made the difficult decision to load up and head home.

While it's disappointing to leave without racing, sometimes the smartest decision is knowing when to protect your equipment and live to fight another day.

We'll get back to the shop this week, find the problem, make the necessary repairs, and be ready to go next Saturday night at Huntsville Speedway Alabama.

We're proud of Logan's effort today. He continued to improve every time he hit the track, stayed calm through adversity, and made an incredible save when things went wrong.

We'll be back.

Rain may have picked up the win today at Huntsville Speedway Alabama, but Reed Family Racing still found a way to make the most of the weekend. 🌧️🏁

What started as a rainout turned into an impromptu testing session, and we’re excited to say it went EXTREMELY well. The boys were fast, the cars responded great, and we learned a lot that has us feeling confident heading into next weekend at Highland Rim Speedway. 👊🔥

Sometimes the best progress happens when things don’t go according to plan. We’re ready to put what we learned to work next weekend!

Huge thank you to all of our sponsors, supporters, family, and fans for always being behind us. Let’s go racing!

After monitoring the weather for most of the day tomorrow, we will not be at the Huntsville practice session tomorrow. Our next event will be next weekend either Friday evening at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway or Saturday at Highland Rim Speedway
