Hey Sharks!
I hope you all have been able to have a day of recovery after our City Meet this weekend!!
We wanted to take a moment to say how proud we are of our swimmers this season. We finished 6th place overall yesterday, but what stood out the most wasn’t our place in the standings—it was the heart our swimmers showed from the first event to the very last. They raced with determination, encouraged one another, celebrated each other’s successes, and carried themselves with integrity and sportsmanship all day long.
As a swim family, there’s nothing more rewarding than watching these kids grow—not just into stronger swimmers, but into kind, respectful, hardworking young people (parents you are all doing an amazing job). They never stopped cheering for each other, picking each other up, and giving everything they had in the pool.
We witnessed so many Fin-Tastic moments this weekend. From supporting a friend who missed a race, to being behind the block and cheering on an opposing team swimmer who thought about giving up. We truly can’t say enough how special our kids are!
To our swimmers, thank you for trusting the process, putting in the work, and representing the Fort Oglethorpe Sharks with pride. To our families, thank you for the early mornings, late nights, and constant support. This team is special because of every single one of you.
A trophy or a team finish will never define this group. The character, grit, and heart you showed this weekend are what we’ll remember long after the season is over.
We couldn’t be prouder to call you Sharks. Please enjoy the rest of your summer! We will see you at our Banquet on August 9th! If you haven’t already, please RSVP on SwimTopia!
