Not because we’re broken.
Not because we’re irrational.

Usually it's because there are patterns running in the background that we don’t fully see yet.

The more we understand those patterns, the less we have to fight ourselves.

Most people assume that understanding themselves will make them more critical of themselves.

In my experience, the opposite is usually true.

The more you understand why you think the way you do, react the way you do, or struggle with the things you struggle with… the less time you spend judging yourself for it.

Awareness doesn’t excuse everything... But it often replaces shame with understanding. And that’s a pretty good place to start.
