My friend Guthrie saw me eat my lunch ridiculously fast one day before going back to work and decided I needed to enter. I told him no.

He then spent the next two weeks hyping me up to everyone. The day of the contest, I showed up thinking I was just going to watch and found out I had apparently been entered. 😂

I figured this was going to be my first and last competitive eating experience, so I might as well try to win.

And somehow, I did. 🏆

Would I ever do it again? Absolutely not. But it still makes me laugh every time I see the video.

Sometimes you don’t expect accidents to happen. 😂

In 2020, I brought my niece to her first soccer practice.

I left as the coach of her team. ⚽

Six years later, I can confirm that was a pretty serious change in plans. 😂

These days, I work with all kinds of sports organizations, teams, leagues, camps, clinics, and travel programs through Special Risk & Associates.

TBT 🏂

Still one of my favorite memories.

A few years back I got the chance to snowboard at Northstar in Truckee on the private side of the mountain during a small retreat, thanks to the CEO of a previous company I worked for.

Coming from Florida, I definitely wasn’t showing up with a closet full of ski gear. The camo shorts were proof. 😂 But growing up skateboarding helped, and I was able to hold my own enough to make it down some challenging runs.

That day at the top of the mountain is something I’ll always remember.

Funny how life works. Now I’m getting ready to work with ski and snowboard programs on their insurance needs. A pretty cool connection back to a memory I never expected would come full circle.
