One of my favorite things about Summer Camp is watching our players grow as athletes and leaders.
Today, we handed the group over to our one and only Evan and asked him to lead our volley warm-up. Stepping in front of a group and taking charge isn’t always easy, but I think he stepped up and handled it pretty well.
Evan did a great job keeping the players engaged, and making sure everyone was moving and ready to start practice. Leadership is a skill just like a forehand or a serve—it takes confidence, communication, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.
As coaches, we want our players to develop more than just tennis skills. Opportunities like this help build character, responsibility, and confidence that will benefit them both on and off the court.
Great job, Evan. I was proud to see you take on the challenge and lead by example. Mateo Ruiz
