Update on lessons… I am starting to do a few lessons here and there. No more than 2 back to back as I’m still weak. I am doing lessons by request (you’re not bothering me by asking - I am not reaching out to anyone asking when they want a lesson). I am not taking new students and am only seeing students I’ve had for a while. My online training is available and includes unlimited feedback/guidance from me. It’s an amazing resource that you would be silly not to take advantage of if you’re serious about pitching. Also exciting news coming soon on a new facility location between Sarasota and Fort Myers 😊.

So proud of this team. In the last week they have really surprised me. Building a new program is extremely hard… we literally started with nothing. No equipment, no apparel, a bumpy field with the wrong dimensions, a community angry that we were even at the school. Six months later, the gear and apparel has fallen into place, the field is remodeled and beautiful, the community has embraced us, and this team has proven they can compete. We’ve won two games in our first two weeks of season - a big accomplishment considering the circumstances and all the adversity we have had to face. I see big things in the future for this program and I am so incredibly blessed to be the one who gets to build it. Big shout out to my co-coaches, and . I couldn’t have asked for two better people to run this program with me 💙

Our first annual New College Athletics Gala will be held Saturday, February 3rd at our historic Ringling Mansion - College Hall, on campus. This is an amazing event that you won’t want to miss. The theme is “Casino Night” - we will have games and tables to keep you entertained, cash bar, and lots of food! You can enjoy the beautiful waterfront outside or mingle inside the stunning Ringling mansion.

We also have a softball home double header earlier that day at 11 and 1 against Ave Maria! Make a day out of it and come see us play and then come party fancy style after!

Proceeds go to NCF athletics and will help support facilities and scholarships.

*NO, THIS DOESNT MEAN I’M NOT DOING IN PERSON LESSONS ANYMORE*. This is a tool to help my students learn better and faster. Think about if you took a math class and didn’t have a text book, notes, or homework. You wouldn’t learn efficiently. So much of the hour I spend with kids is FORGOTTEN or misunderstood. This provides structure and a much deeper understanding of everything pitching.

The online program is limited to 100 students. If you’re not a current student, you will have to apply for training. Please understand that I will be extremely selective with anyone who applies that I don’t know.

Online training includes:
•The most important concepts of pitching, including the biggest and simplest secret to speed.
•Warm up drills page.
•lesson pages organized by subject (legs, arms, grips, release, etc) with videos and written explanations and directions.
•Tips for accuracy and location.
•Several video examples with voice over explanations of the best pitchers in the world and how what I teach is based on the things that they all do.
•Movement pitches and change-up page with various cues and tips you can try for each pitch.
•Strength training section with pictures, including at home workouts, body weight workouts, and gym workouts.
•Stretches and band exercises with video explanations.
•Training schedule for practice, games, and strength and conditioning including a color coded calendar, suggested pitch counts depending on age, and how much to train on your own in and out of season.

Today I underwent another cancer surgery. In March I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and had a large tumor removed along with my right o***y. On Tuesday December 5th, I had to call an ambulance for myself at 5am due to extreme abdominal pain and nausea. While I was in the hospital, they found another mass.

Today, they were able to remove the mass laparoscopically (thank god - last time I had a big incision). They were also able to save my o***y this time. When I met with the surgeon last week, I begged her to save my o***y. I cannot describe the devastation and fear I felt when they told me in the hospital last week I would probably have to have a hysterectomy.

Unfortunately, although they successfully removed the mass today, they did find cancerous nodules scattered throughout my abdomen. The type of cancer I have (mucinous carcinoma) is a rare and chemo-resistant cancer - meaning traditional cancer treatment is not effective. There are alternative treatment options that I feel enthusiastic about.

Below is a go fund me link. If you are able to give even $20, this will help me so much to be able to cover out of pocket costs for surgery, treatment, and hospital bills. I live alone and don’t have family anywhere nearby, so it’s been a challenging experience. I have received a lot of support from the softball community and my friends and family which I’m so grateful for. This is a really scary and uncertain time for me and I need all the help I can get to fight this off for good. Thank you everyone for your love and support! Messages of concern are appreciated, but please do not bombard me with questions, advice and opinions. It is not helpful and stresses me out.
