We are taking a road trip down south to hop aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad that offers an adventure through the beautiful, scenic Royal Gorge canyon and Colorado Rockies. We are hoping the timing will be right to catch some of the majestic fall colors in the area.

On the train ride, you will have a chance to step outside in the open-air car to take in some of Mother Nature’s beauty along the route that features rugged canyon walls, the Arkansas River and big-horn sheep. Our departure for the train ride will be later afternoon so we will be stopping for lunch ahead of time. There are food/drinks available on the train for purchase on your own.

After the train ride, we will stay overnight in Canon City where we will have dinner and if time allows, take in some of the city’s sites. The next morning, we will have breakfast at the hotel then head to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park to take in some of the adventures of the aerial gondola, Plaza Theatre, and walk the famous bridge that offers 360-degree views of pure Colorado. If time permits, we may stop by a local winery to browse the gift shop before our departure home.

Please note the fee includes the train ride, bridge/park entrance and transportation. Hotel arrangements will be made individually (or with roommate) at a designated hotel which will be given to those that register. A block of rooms have been reserved for our group. Meals will be on your own. Please see Linda for further details if needed.

Hard work looks a little different for everyone. It's the early morning workouts, the parents cheering from the sidelines, the instructors who inspire, the maintenance crews who keep our facilities beautiful, and the neighbors who make Fort Lupton such a great place to call home.

This Labor Day, we celebrate everyone who helps build a stronger community.
