Another successful event in the books for 2023! I am so grateful to be surrounded by like-minded Army leaders who love spreading the benefits of Army Combatives and Jiu Jitsu to their troops! Fort Gregg-Adams Combatives will be hosting a Toy Drive Open Mat on Sunday, 03 December 2023, from 0700-0900HRS.

All toys will be donated to the VCU Children's Hospital in Richmond, VA.

We had an awesome turnout for our last food drive, and everyone had an amazing time training for a great cause.

Awesome turnout for the open mat food drive! Thank you so much for all the participants and to all the generous donations for those in need.

This was a great training session leading up to Veteran's day and the Holidays.

As always, thank you to everyone who has been an advocate for Combatives throughout Fort Gregg Adams!

Hopefully more events like this in the near future!

ATTENTION!!:

On Sunday, 05 November 2023 0700hrs-0900hrs we will be hosting a grappling open mat/food drive. We will have Combatives and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu representation from various units and school houses throughout Ft. Gregg-Adams who will give brief instructions, followed by an open mat!

This is totally open to all who can make it, we just ask that if you can bring canned goods, it would be much appreciated to help us out with the food drive.

A Co. 244th QM BN led by SSG Williams is training and certifying 11 permanent party Soldiers to be level 1 Army combatives certified. The training builds Soldiers' personal courage, confidence, and resiliency as well as their situational responsiveness to close quarters threats in the operational environment.

Sunday Morning Open Mat was a success! Awesome way to start the day!

Another wonderful class this last week. Once again, this class was condensed due to the 4-day weekend but everyone gave an amazing effort.

Thank you again to all the units who supported the program this last month. We were able to certify 50 personnel across Fort Gregg-Adams and across all components (Active, Reserve, National Guard), some even coming out to train TDY on their own dime. That means a lot to me personally that they did that to come get this training.

There were also two students who’s supervisors gave them the option to have a “light duty” week, but instead they opted to attend training. Again, words cannot express my gratitude. Welcome to the Warrior Culture.

Tuesday- 30 May 2023, 0745, BLDG 12504 (Warehouse behind Bunker Hall on ASU Campus). Uniform: Stripped ACUs, PT shorts underneath, PT shoes or Slip-on shoes, Mouthguard, water source.

What better way to honor our fallen warriors this weekend than by doing the most warrior thing we can think of. TRAINING COMBATIVES! What an amazing class this week. They were adaptable and patient with the condensed schedule, worked so hard this week learning technique, got a special seminar and were graced by multiple black belts to learn from before testing.

We also had a serious talk about su***de prevention before going into our weekend. Not all of our fallen heroes were by the enemy’s hand. Please take a moment this weekend to honor the fallen, and please give a big hand to this class of outstanding warriors for all the work they did this week.
