We know how much goes on behind the scenes — getting everyone where they need to be, fixing bows, carrying bags, calming nerves, encouraging smiles, volunteering, coaching, cheering from the sidelines and making sure our kids have the BEST experience possible.

Find the Right Fit for Your Athlete!

One of the most common questions we receive each season is, "What age division will my child play in?"

The Southeast Region Tackle Football Age Schematic helps families understand which divisions their athlete may be eligible for based on their age as of July 14 of the current season.

Please remember:
This chart shows player eligibility, not every team that will be offered by your local league.
Contact your local league to learn which age divisions they will field this season.
Player ages are determined as of July 14 for the current Pop Warner season.

At Pop Warner, our age-based divisions are designed to promote player safety, proper development, and competitive balance, giving every athlete the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the game.

The First 20 Hours Matter!

Every Pop Warner season begins the same way—with a strong foundation.

The first 20 hours of practice are dedicated to conditioning and fundamentals. This important period is designed to safely prepare every athlete for the season ahead while helping them build confidence, strength, and proper technique.

During these first 20 hours, athletes will focus on:
✅ Heat acclimation and player safety
✅ Conditioning and endurance
✅ Agility, balance, and coordination
✅ Proper football and cheer fundamentals
✅ Teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
✅ Building healthy habits for a successful season

Football Players: The emphasis is on learning the fundamentals of the game, proper techniques, and safely preparing the body before progressing into contact.

Cheerleaders: Athletes will build strength, flexibility, motion technique, jumps, stunts, and teamwork while developing the fundamentals needed for a successful season.

Pop Warner’s commitment to safety means no athlete is eligible to participate in a game until they have successfully completed the required 20 hours of conditioning. These guidelines help ensure every child is physically prepared and ready to compete safely.

Remember…
Championships aren’t built on game day—they’re built during the first 20 hours.
