We see this often. An attempt to seal a crack or fill a hole with improper materials can lead to bigger problems. This nose crack was patched up with a polyester based filler that has melted the EPS foam core of the board costing the customer significantly more to repair. If you’re traveling or not near a professional repair shop, do your homework and purchase an epoxy repair kit to avoid this costly mistake. Only epoxy is suitable for repairs on most all current brands. They all have EPS core.

This customer's board took a hit from a boat wake and ended up under a dock, but thankfully he was unharmed. The Foil Factory carbon fiber nose guard did its job, and after some minor repairs and a colormatch, he was back on the water.
