Mid-Day Recap | Lacerda Cup

Fort Drum continues to make a strong showing at the Lacerda Cup, with four of eight fighters still in contention—two of whom remain in the championship bracket heading into the latter half of competition. PFC Jacob (205) and SPC Galope (125) have advanced with impressive performances, while CPT Weierbach (155) and PFC EZ (185) continue their push through the blood round, fighting for a place on the podium.

Earlier in the day, Fort Drum faced adversity in the heavyweight division. PFC Luan sustained multiple fractures to his hand during a hard-fought quarterfinal bout and was medically forced to withdraw from the tournament. His toughness and willingness to compete through injury embody the team’s fighting spirit.

With momentum still on their side, Fort Drum remains firmly in the hunt as the tournament continues.

The final match of the evening was decisively closed out by SPC Galope (125 lbs), who secured a first-round knockout over a 173rd Airborne Division opponent, capping the night with authority.

TRAINING CAMP COMPLETE. MISSION CONTINUES.

Training camp is complete, and your North Country warriors are taking a moment to reset and prepare for the week ahead. We’re grateful for the opportunity to represent and compete alongside some of the best athletes across the Army.

This team has put in a tremendous amount of work, and it’s been inspiring to watch their growth, discipline, and commitment throughout the process. Our roster brings together a wide range of experience, including world champions and professional athletes, but more importantly, a group of Soldiers who genuinely care about getting better every day.

We’re thankful for the support from our leadership, coaches, and teammates who made this possible.
