Did you know that girls are probably just as likely as boys to have ADHD — yet they’re far less likely to be diagnosed? Together, we can make sure no girl with ADHD gets overlooked again.
Many girls have inattentive-type ADHD, and they often go unnoticed. When people think of ADHD, they usually imagine hyperactive kids “bouncing off the walls.” But what about the quiet child who’s lost in thought, struggling to follow the lesson? That child needs support, too. Her challenges are easier to miss — and that can have long-lasting consequences.
Experts cover topics like signs and symptoms, root causes, and talking and understanding to help parents feel empowered to take that first step in supporting their kids. Resources are available on how to take action, about IEPs, 504 plans, and how to manage day-to-day emotions.
With the right diagnosis, girls with ADHD can get the support they need. They can thrive in school — and be celebrated for their strengths instead of punished for their differences.
