Most of our desires generate from what we see or hear from others. Nowadays its the social media content. Become aware of how it makes you feel, what kind of desires it creates in you.
If it's something that inspires you, for your or others good in the long run, goo for it.
But if the desires create a feeling of lack or discontentment within ourselves that is when we need to apply dispassion and the principle of contentment with what is.
Desire (Iccha Shakti) is a power all human beings are bestowed with and no action can happen without desire. Yet the constant rush to want more or not having enough/being good enough can rob one of the happiness in the present moment.
When that happens, then work towards mastery of dispassion towards being desireless of what you see or hear, material or spiritual
