New ink and solid conversation with Lord Daniel Serna. “It doesn’t really matter if something really bad or something really good happens to you… it’s never going to be as good or as bad as you think it’s going to be.” That statement can really reframe the way you think about goals and failure.

We all go through good and bad experiences. But in the end, the outcome of the experiences depends on what you decide to take away from them.

Some serious wisdom in Anvil Ink and Art tattoo shop today, as well as some amazing tattooing skills. 🤘

Thanks for the new ink Dan, I’ll be back soon! 👊

🇺🇸 🚁 Is Air Assault School REALLY the “hardest 10 days in the Army?”

I’ve done Air Assault, Ranger School, Pathfinder, SERE, Best Ranger, and plenty of other Army schools and training over the years… and I just can’t give Air Assault that title.

But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

What makes Air Assault unique is just how many opportunities there are to make ONE stupid mistake and get sent home.

You can be physically fit. You can study. You can prepare. And you can still screw up one small detail that ends your time at the school…

So maybe it’s not the hardest 10 days in the Army…

…but it might be 10 days where you better have your s**t together from start to finish. 👊

👉 I still 110% recommend a deliberate physical train-up for Air Assault, as you’ll have plenty of required gates to pass that rely on your fitness. The 8-Week Air Assault School Prep Plan will get you to where you need to be! (Link in bio) 💪

💬 Air Assault grads: what got the most people dropped when YOU went through?

The GRIT 100 Challenge. 100 MILES. 30 DAYS. NO EXCUSES. ⚡️💀

Your mission is simple: accumulate 100 standardized miles between November 1–30.

And no, you DON’T have to run 100 miles. Pick your poison, or mix & match:

🏃 Run
🥾 Ruck
🚶 Walk
🥾 Hike
🚴 Bike
🏊 Swim
🚣 Row
⛷️ Ski
🛼 Skate
⚡️More

Every approved activity converts to standardized miles, so you can build the challenge around YOUR training.

Want to ruck all 100 miles? Do it.

Want to combine running, rucking, cycling, swimming and rowing? Do it.

100 standardized miles is the standard. How you get there is up to you.

And broken down across November?

Breaking it down, that’s only 3.3 miles per day…

Sounds easy.

Now do it for 30 days. When you’re busy. When you’re tired. When the weather sucks. When you don’t feel like training.

That’s where the challenge is.

Complete the GRIT 100 to standard and you’ll EARN:

🪙 GRIT 100 Challenge Coin
🪖 Collectible GRIT 100 Dog Tag
📜 Official hard-copy Certificate of Completion

This isn’t about beating everyone else.

It’s you against YOU.

⚔️ Ready to earn it? Register through the link in the bio at Gritty Soldier Challenge Unit or head to RunSignUp.com/Grit100

COMMIT. EXECUTE. EARN IT.

🇺🇸 Want more hand-release push-ups on the AFT? Doing more push-ups IS NOT always the answer.

👉 If you need a comprehensive fitness plan to increase your AFT score, get on the 8-Week MAX THE AFT program! (Link is in the bio).

You obviously need to practice the actual event, but it’s a big mistake to overlook strength training.

You wan to BUILD a stronger chest, shoulders, triceps, and upper back, then develop the muscular endurance to repeat that strength over and over.

The simple but effective process:

1. Build the strength
2. Practice the movement
3. Build the endurance to repeat it

You want to train the qualities that improve the event, not just the event itself.

What’s your current max on AFT hand-release push-ups and what’s your goal? 👇

Oh and in case you’re wondering, my home gym rack you see in the video is the B17 from MAJOR FITNESS | Gym Equipment and yes I highly recommend checking them out it if you’re in the market!

Believe it or not, I LOVED Pokémon as a kid…. Actually, let be honest… I’m still a Pokémon kid… 😆 But I liked it more when it was the original 150 (+1). I had a huge card binder, which I lost somehow when I was like 18. Probably worth thousands too… 🤦‍♂️ And Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow on GameBoy… let’s just say a good portion of my life went to catching them all.

Anyways, THANKS to Nicholas Pangelinan for the 94th AAMDC and USMRTC coins and patch! All the way from Guam. 🇬🇺 I’ve got a Gritty Soldier coin on its way to you, and I’ve added in a couple patches as well. 👊 Great swap man!

I need to get on it with the expansion project for the Gritty Soldier coin rack… the Gritty Soldier Challenge Unit coin rack is already almost out of space… and it’s meant to hold GSC coins only! 😆

If you’ve got a coin you want to swap for a GS coin, hit me up and we’ll make it happen! ⚔️

I’ve spent a lot of time in all three, and while they’re all solid military boots, they’re definitely not built for the same job.

Rucking? Field problems? Ranger School or SFAS? Everyday duty? Moving fast and light?

I put together a full comparison breaking down where each Garmont Tactical boot performs best, the pros and cons of each, and which one I’d personally choose depending on what I’m doing.

Many have asked for more details on the Norwegian Sports Federation Sports Badge. Here you go!

**this one is now authorized for wear on the Army ASU/AGSU.

To earn it, you’ll need to complete events across 5 categories within the same calendar year:

1️⃣ Sustained Physical Activity
2️⃣ Flexibility / Precision
3️⃣ Speed
4️⃣ Strength
5️⃣ Endurance

There are multiple event options for each category, with standards based on age and s*x. And if you’ve completed the Norwegian Foot March, that can satisfy your endurance requirement (among other things like a 5k, half marathon, triathlon, etc.)

I broke down the requirements and submission process in the slides above.

A great resource is posted on Reddit by NFMGuy_Emeritus. Google for it and you’ll find some more info and links. 👍
