. Monday Night Walleye League results for Week 7... sorry for the late post we had a few technical problems with pictures not uploading properly...

We had a gorgeous night of fishing and the walleyes showed up to the party. We had boats that stayed in the river fort side, we had boats in the river on the Newville side and we had boats out on the lake. All those boats caught fish. We had 15 boats and a total of 73 walleyes over 15" were caught and released. 28 of those walleyes were over 18" and 7 were over 20" with the biggest fish being 23". Several different techniques were used to catch these fish. Trolling smaller cranks like salmos and flicker 5s seemed to catch the majority of fish. They were not as aggressive for the jig and leeches as they were the week prior. James and I easily went thru a half pound of leeches as we fed several tail draggers that just wouldn't commit. See the bite...feel the weight...Set the hook...Come back with empty jig...repeat.

ROCK RIVER WATER RESCUE/SEARCH INCIDENT - Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026

Due to an incident that occurred on the Rock River north of the Jefferson Dam yesterday afternoon, we will be temporarily suspending guide trip operations to assist fire/law enforcement with coordinated underwater search of a missing person.

Please help by avoiding this immediate area while search operations are being conducted. Although offered assistance is always appreciated, excessive boat traffic in this situation can unfortunately cause more problems than help. This is especially true when assigned boats are trying to perform precise systematic search patterns and other boat traffic unintentionally interferes.

Further details regarding the incident will be handled/released by law enforcement at their discretion.

Watch out for floating or submerged structure out on Kosh! I saw a couple of these yesterday afternoon and hit one on the way into the mouth at Blackhawk Island. Thankfully I was going pretty slow

Free Fishing Weekend this coming weekend

Free Fishing Weekend is June 6-7!

Wisconsin residents and out-of-state visitors can fish state waters without buying a fishing license, trout stamp or salmon stamp. However, please know all other fishing regulations, including bag limits, size limits and species restrictions, remain in effect.

There will be fishing clinics providing simple, hands-on instruction such as casting, knot tying, fish identification and basic fishing techniques for those new to this sport. Wisconsin DNR Tackle Loaner Sites located statewide has rods, reels and tackle for participants needing equipment.
