At last night's members meeting, we had a very informative presentation by the Coast Guard Auxiliary. They spoke about the history of the Auxiliary, Vessel Safety Checks, and Radio procedures. Many of our members had questions for them, and everyone came away with some new knowledge. We were honored to have the Coast Guard Auxiliary members as guest speakers.

Quick update on Double Creek Channel:

1. It is currently NOT properly marked.

2. We’ve already ungrounded several boats that tried following “last year’s tracks”… so conditions have definitely changed.

3. We do not know when the channel will be marked. The channel is regulated by NJ DOT, not the USCG.

4. If you’re thinking about running it without markers… maybe reread #2 first 😂

5. We will update when it is marked!!!

At last nights meeting we had Bob Hryszko, co-owner and rod builder from Grumpys Tackle. Bob demonstrated how to put on a reel seat, hand grip and how to wrap guides. Bob was very thorough in his presentation and the membership was impressed by his expertise. Thank you Bob and Grumpys!
