And just like that, Mother Nature has officially pumped the brakes on 2025. As we close the course for the winter, I want to take a moment to personally thank all of our members and guests for an incredible season at Tri-County. Your patience, support, and enthusiasm throughout the year have meant so much to our entire team. Today we cleaned up the Speakeasy, blew out the irrigation system, shut down the ice machine, etc.

It’s been a year of progress, growth, and great memories—made possible by the wonderful community we have here. While we’ll miss seeing everyone out on the course, we’re already looking forward to welcoming you back in the spring for another exciting season together. Thank you from all of us at TCCC for EVERYTHING!

With appreciation,

Daniel Rettig

With the 2025 golf season wrapping up I would like to acknowledge our award winning team in the pro shop.

Dan Rettig, PGA: Winner of the the 2025 WNYPGA Merchandiser of the year for Semi-Private/Public Golf Courses, Nominated for WNYPGA Golf Professional of the Year & WNYPGA Decon Palmer Award (displays outstanding integrity, character and leadership, in the effort to overcome a MAJOR OBSTACLE), Graduate of the Callaway Golf Master Fitter Program.

Jake Eckley, PGA: Nominated for 4 awards in the Section: Teacher and Coach of the Year, Youth Player Development, and the Decon Palmer Award. Jake was the Co-Champion of the Africa 6000 Event, & 1 of 3 WNYPGA Professionals to Qualify for the Professionals Championship at Brandon Dunes in April 2026.

Lewis Markham: Entered the PGA Apprentice Program, 1st Professional Victory at the WNYPGA Assistant’s Tournament at The Ridge.

While many of you see us in the shop and behind the counter, we play and do business behind the scenes that has been noticed around the WNY golf community. Thank you to the staff as a whole for covering shifts, managing traffic, scoring leagues, and for answering the question “what’s going on with the clubhouse” probably enough to hear it in your sleep! 😜

Have a great offseason!

We are deeply saddened by the passing of longtime former member, Ray Smith. Ray was a cherished part of the Tri-County family for at least 40 years, whose presence, positive attitude, and love for the game will be fondly remembered. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this time.

Raymond “Ray” Eugene Smith, a devoted husband, loving father and papa, community leader, and friend to many, passed away on October 17th, 2025. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Edna (Thordahl) Smith, for 65 wonderful years.

The tank arrived today for the sprinkler system and the willows are out on 10. As much as we love trees out here, the roots were getting too big and causing the bare spots on the green.

Lots of work around the perimeter in preparation for siding (hopefully this week 🤞).

Here we see the area all leveled out where the deck will be, the entry way ramp/double sided stair case, the accessible access into the basement, and some grading around the back of the clubhouse!

Congratulations to our Big Dawg: Lewis Markham on his win at The Ridge! Solid showing from the TC Assistants.
