Foresthill Fabric Friends A sewing club Foresthill’s NEW Community Sewing Room
Ever since the successful Foresthill’s Fabric Frenzy, we have wanted to keep sewing together!

WE ARE NOW LOCATED at Carpenter’s Place next to Dollar General. It is a membership gym so you need to press the buzzer(firmly) on the post to the left of the double door so that we can let you in to visit. (Foresthill Divide School’s Shannon Jacinto let us create a space in 2015 for a Community Sewing Room up at the Upper Elementary School but we have moved now)
Our first project was completing

15 quilts that we donated to the Middletown Fire victims, all folks that lost their houses and everything in them. The next on-going project will be making comfort quilts for our ambulances and deputy’s to carry in their vehicles to be used when something extreme happens. We will be paying rent for the use of our new room so we are going to be holding fun classes, having tubs of donated material that one can look through to take home for a donation and the same for books and patterns. These classes will be kept at a low cost, sometimes materials will be provided, otherwise a list will be provided for materials you will bring to the class. Any proceeds will be used for rent. The room is being outfitted for people who want to sew but might not own a machine or need a flannel wall for designing but don’t have the space. You might need a large table to lay something out or you just might want to hang out with co-sewers and sew sociably. We ask for a small donation that will be used to pay our rent if you want to use the space. The room will be open for DROP-IN’s almost every Monday and Friday from 12-4 with someone there to show you how it all works. This is a sewing club that was started after a very generous woman donated thousands of yards of material to our community. Over 120 people came together and volunteered to sell the fabric to benefit many of our local nonprofits. After the sales were done $53,000 was raised and given out .... in memory of this and in honor of new & old friendships we became "Foresthill Fabric Friends".

Our 2026 Let Freedom Ring opportunity quilt will be at the Foresthill Community Garden Plant Sale on Saturday, May 9. The drawing will be in November. You may also contact any of us at Foresthill Fabric Friends to purchase tickets as well. Our focus is to now make more quilts for those in need or in a crisis situation in our community and to give to our veterans. Proceeds from the tickets will go towards supplies in completing those projects.

This is our just completed opportunity quilt for 2026! It is called “Let Freedom Ring” in honor of the 250th anniversary of our country. It will have its debut at theFoothill Quilters Guild meeting tomorrow, Monday, December 8 at noon, and tickets are available. The drawing will be the end of December 2026.

Foothill Quilters had a wonderful Christmas Potluck and Party on Monday at the Vets Hall in Auburn. Lots of tasty food, a visit from the Foresthill Friends Opportunity Quilt, games, show and tell, and a surprise gift exchange. I think everyone had a great time. Big thanks to Jeanette Sproul and her Hospitality Team.

Thank you to all who visited and supported our booth at Holiday in the Pines yesterday! It was amazing 🥰
Also, a local gal won our opportunity quilt- Meagan Middleton. Congratulations Meagan! She also remembers Vina Kliesch who designed and started the quilt. Robin Guthrie finished it and Virginia Page did the long arm quilting.
Our new quilt for 2026, the 250th anniversary of our country , will be revealed soon!
