The schedule is set and Maroon Crush Mayhew is ready for an exciting summer of softball! From Myrtle Beach to Richmond, Salem, North Carolina, and right back home in Brookneal, these girls are ready to compete, grow, and make memories together all summer long.

This weekend, Maroon Crush stepped up once again and competed in the 14U division, finishing the day 2-2 against a field of 12 tough, older teams.

The girls responded exactly how we hoped they would. After dropping their first two games and entering bracket play, they bounced back with a 9-1 win before battling their way to a 2-1 victory in the championship game. That championship win came against a second-year 14U team that had defeated us in our previous 14U tournament, making it even more rewarding to see the growth and compete the way we did.

The seeding wasn’t what we wanted, and we know there are things we need to clean up, but playing up an age division and bringing home a bracket championship is something these girls should be proud of. Every time we face older competition, we continue to learn, grow, and prove that we belong.

Proud of the fight, toughness, and resilience this group showed all weekend. We’ll take the lessons, build on the success, and get back to work.
