With the postponing of our races at Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati due to storm damage (so glad nobody was hurt) we decided to join RRD - Roderick Racing Development at Quaker City Motorsports Park for their Saturday race. We threw the kart and a few tools in the Sierra and headed east. Aj Roderick had a spot ready for us under the canopies and we unloaded and got to work. They were running their backwards configuration and we chased the setup all day. We went from 12th in practice to 4th in the final. We will be back in action in two weeks at MCC. Our Elwood Motorsport Team LLC setup camp this past weekend at Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati for rounds 5&6 of the MCC ProAm Karting Championship Speedom Festival. Friday was just a sweltering day with real feel temps nearly reaching 110 so we did two rounds of practice and felt we were ready for Saturday. Saturday was another day of nearly triple digit temps but Alan Elwood would battle the heat and bring home the win! Sunday the temps started coming down and Alan was contesting for the win on the final lap but the leader drifted up into Alan in turn two and Alan had to check up. He would keep fighting and got a strong 2nd place finish and accumulated valuable points in our track championship battle. Thanks to Aj Roderick for over the phone setup conversations. We are off for a few weeks but we will be in the Village of Forest Tree Town Festival Parade this coming Friday weather permitting. Happy 4th of July and 250 years!!! We unloaded Friday here at Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati with the real feel temps flirting with 110 degrees. Alan Elwood and I ran a session together then I decided I was too slow to do anymore right now. We had good speed in practice and Alan qualified third. The Pre Final saw Alan battle with a fellow Coyote kart from the James Overbeck camp. They drag raced to the Checkered flag with Alan taking second. The Final would see Alan fall to third then battle to the lead and battle the fellow Coyote Motorsports kart to the checkers with Alan taking the win. This past Thursday we rolled into New Castle Motorsports Park to join our RRD - Roderick Racing Development team mates for four days of racing in the APEX Series. Friday saw us in the top three in every round of practice and we were ready for Saturday. Saturday saw us again in the top 3 for our practice but unfortunately mother nature dumped on NCMP and we made the decision to not participate in the heat races. The pre final on Sunday had Alan Elwood charging through the field but the kart tightened up and we stalled out a spot below the podium. The sun came out for the final and we thought we had the chassis ready for it but unfortunately it did not react the way we wanted and Alan would struggle with too much grip the entire race. We had a blast hanging out with everyone and we learned a lot. We have several weeks off until we roll back into MCC. We rolled into MCC for rounds 2 and 3 this past weekend with our full team from RRD - Roderick Racing Development . Alan Elwood would qualify P3 on Saturday then grab 1st in the pre final and 1st in the final. Sunday saw Alan qualify 4th then race to a 3rd place in the pre final and the final saw him ride in 2nd until 3 laps to go. Alan make a pass in turn 11 to take the lead and he would hold that and take the win in the final. With his two wins Alan also grabbed the weekend championship 🏆! Thank you goes out to our sponsors and teammates !! We had a blast meeting and hanging with the family of Emily DeMaster, and all of our other racing family!!
