Tonight we recognized the Cottage Grove and St. Paul Saints 12U B1 teams and their goalies for their incredible performance in the record-breaking 12-overtime playoff game that happened this season!!

Cottage Grove and St. Paul's U-12 girls hockey teams played 12 overtime sessions before the shootout finally determined a winner.

🤯🏒 Unbelievable Marathon Playoff! 🏒🤯

This is not a drill! An incredible youth hockey playoff game between our Saints 12U B1 team and Cottage Grove has turned into an epic, multi-day endurance test! Starting Monday night, these tenacious teams played through regulation and six overtimes, suspended at 1-1. They resumed Tuesday, grinding through four more OTs, and guess what? Still tied!

Now, they’ll convene for a third day, tonight at Doug Woog Arena in South St. Paul, to play the 11th (and potentially more!) overtime period. That’s 13 periods of hockey so far – equivalent to over four typical games and nearly four-and-a-half hours of intense action! These amazing athletes are showing incredible grit and determination, with a combined 135 saves by the goalies! 🧤

What an absolutely legendary battle to continue on in the District 8 playoffs! ✨ Let’s go, Saints! Whatever the outcome, you’ve shown your grit and determination and we couldn’t be more proud of you!

A large group of 10U & 8U Saints cheered on the Minnesota Gophers vs Badgers women’s hockey game last night. So fun seeing Saints players from multiple teams spending time together on a Friday night! 🏒 🫶🏼 🥅

🏆 CHAMPIONS 🏆

What a WEEKEND for our Saints 15U A squad in Rochester! We are absolutely thrilled to announce they’ve brought home the Shannon Cup banner, trophy, AND those incredible individual rings as champions!

The road to the ‘chip was pure drama! 🍿 Saturday night’s semi-final against Anoka Champlin Park C**n Rapids was an absolute nail-biter. Tied with just 2 minutes left, our coaches made the gutsy call to pull the goalie, and it paid off BIG TIME! 🥅➡️🏒 A textbook one-timer buried in front of the net secured the game-winner and punched our ticket to the championship! Talk about clutch!

Even sweeter, our Saints 12U A and 10U A teams were also in Rochester and got to share in the electric atmosphere, cheering on their older teammates and celebrating this amazing win!

On Sunday, they faced a highly-ranked Elk River squad in the final. But our 15U A team was simply unstoppable. Playing some of their best hockey all season, they delivered a dominant performance and a phenomenal shutout victory to seize the banner, hoist the trophy, and earn those well-deserved championship rings! 💍🤩

Huge congratulations to every player, coach, and supportive family on an unforgettable weekend and a truly epic championship win! 🎉 Your hard work, grit, and teamwork shone through every single shift. So incredibly proud of this team!

We’re holding a training session tomorrow (Monday) for GameSheet, our game scoring software, and we’d love for you to join! This training will teach you everything you need to know to help us score games accurately this season – no experience necessary.
We’ll cover how to log in, enter scores, manage penalties, and finalize game sheets. Feel free to bring an iPad for hands-on practice if you have one.
