21 years ago today. LLPD still remembers. This week Shawn’s family gathered at his memorial rock with the department.

Thank you Lino Lakes Police Department for sharing words to honor him, the BBQ meal and most of all the gift of your time!

We invite everyone to join us to remember as we run and walk together on September 20th. 👟💙
Not only do we commemorate Shawn’s legacy and life of service, we raise funds for causes that would have been so meaningful to him: law enforcement scholarships and the Invisible Wounds Project.

The Minneapolis Police Department has had more than its share of challenges. We are thrilled that the Minneapolis PD and Park Police have teams participating in our Public Safety Challenge.

When you come out to our 5K, you're showing your support for the first responders who serve our community. They need to know we've got their backs, so get registered to walk or run on September 20th.

We've got Chisago City Fire Department in for our Public Safety Challenge, but we've not heard from the Chisago County Sheriff's Office. Based on their Facebook posts, we're guessing they're a fun bunch. Consider this a callout!

Centennial Lakes Police Department got a new chief this summer. Congratulations to Chief Brian Goetzke!

• 2014: Started his career as a Correctional Officer in Ramsey County.

• 2018: Joined the Centennial Lakes Police Department as a Police Officer.

• 2020: Promoted to Sergeant, demonstrating exceptional leadership.

• 2026: Appointed as our new Chief of Police!

Everyone has their own reason for supporting Invisible Wounds Project and our 5K. It might be Shawn himself, it might be help they’ve personally received from a first responder, it might be that IWP was a lifeline for them.

For this gentleman, he runs in memory of his dad. ❤️

This 5K is a memorial run, but it is also filled with joy.

One of the best parts of last year’s event was the fun shirts some of the Public Safety Challenge teams showed up with.

One of this year’s team names is Disgruntled Dispatchers, and we’re anxious to see if they have shirts as funny as their name.

Thank you, Lino Lakes Police Department.

Each year during National Police Week, we pause to remember the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. It is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness required to stand on the front lines of public safety. We are forever grateful. We’d specifically like to acknowledge the sacrifice of Officer Shawn Silvera, a Lino Lakes Police Officer, who was killed in the line of duty on September 6, 2005.
