Going after blacktails with my son Sunday. Hope to get it done!!! They are still sporting head gear so it's big buck or big doe time. Then I'm going to put him in for spring bear and hopefully guide him to his first bear!!

Gates crew getting it done on Blacktails. Rut Wild style. These bucks were so pre rut active it was crazy. I grunted the big one in with my voice. Earlier in the morning, actually first light we snort wheezed at a buck that was out of range and he bristled up and proceeded to thrash the ground and everything in sight...I believe a decoy or rattling antlers would've brought him closer. All in all it's been a great season.

Anyone seeing pre rut activity... We sure have been..patience is the key. I believe the final week of season this year is going to be EPIC and produce some monster Blacktail. Also, wishing everyone going after cascade bulls the best of luck!!

Don't forget everyone. Full draw film Festival at the Bagdad in Portland this Friday!! If you're a bow hunter this is a must see!! Bow hunting on the big screen.
