Where did today go? Good grief! Beamer was confirmed in foal to Lazyr for a full sibling to Splash. Mercedes had her post-antibiotic therapy cultures. She had a large follicle so covered her with Lazyr again as well. Soon I'll get updated photos of these foals. They are starting to shed into their roan coats and look pretty scraggly right now. Funny story about Splash--while his mom was in the stocks, Splash backed up to the garbage can and took a dump. Never know what this c**t will do!

Spent several days reaping the benefits of the Big Sky in western Montana. Some of our riding was in densly forested areas where the trail was sporadically visible, the sides sometimes made one wish for a face mask and the trees obscured the blue above. Absolutely beautiful riding--I love riding in trees! Cayde gets a little nervous being tightly closed in but he handled everything exceptionally well--a few little spooks but nothing major. I took very few photos as there wasn't always much of a view. The top of the Tin Cup trail is stunning however--a grand vista with an abrupt drop-off. It's tough to capture that in a photo. Many thanks to Lorinda, Barb and Q for the wonderful miles!

Took Cayde on his first camping trip to Lake Como in the Bitterroot Mountains of western Montana. The scent of wild roses, beargrass blooming and the creeks running full were wonderful! There were places that the trail was barely visible amidst the thick undergrowth and trees on both sides and overhead. If we had met a bear or a moose, not sure what we would have done. We did see black bear but no close encounters. Cayde gets a little claustrophobic in the tight spaces but he handled everything so well—even when we startled the deer. Hikers, bikers, water, mud, steep ups and steep downs; Cayde was a trooper. Very happy with him.

Beautiful day. No big hurry getting started in the morning. Gemini’s new owner came over to spend some time. Then Lorinda and I met up with Barb for a lovely ride. We saw a new fawn, elk and two black bear! Cayde did very well with the dogs, water crossings and wildlife.

Luv was born during a night when the Northern Lights were highly visible last summer, hence the name Aurora's 24 Karat Kiss. Bold and beautiful, Luv is also personable, curious and willing. I realized I didn't get any standing photos of her so will have to try again another time. (Dymonds On My Ferrari x Destined to Dazzyl). There is a full sibling on the way for 2027 that is spoken for.
