Cherry Run Gun, Rod & Reel Club Inc. / Cherry Run Sportsman’s Club Cherry Run Gun, Rod & Reel Club Inc. was established in July of 1957. The Cherry Run Gun, Rod & Reel Club Inc. Restrooms are available nearby inside the Club.

(Cherry Run Sportsmen's Club) is located along Cherry Run Road approximately 5 miles south of US Route 422. The Club is available for rent for a variety of events such as: family reunions, birthday parties, picnics, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc. The Club features ample parking and plenty of outdoor recreation area. The interior of the Club features a 10' x 18' kitchen and a 30' x 40' banquet area. Tables (10) and chairs (110) are available with the rental of the Club. Also available for rent is our new 28’ x 40’ pavilion. The pavilion includes picnic tables, electric, lighting and a concrete floor. To reserve the Club or Pavilion for your event, please call Bob Nolder at 724-354-2482. Our Goal is,To promote, aid and encourage policies toward the conservation of our natural resources, especially of game, fish, forests, streams and lands, public and private, and to maintain our natural resources and to promote good fellowship and higher ethics sportsmen.

Pennsylvania Supreme Court Strikes Down Warrantless Entry onto Posted Private Land

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has ruled that Pennsylvania Game Commission officers generally cannot enter posted private property without consent, a warrant, or another lawful exception, overturning a 2007 decision that had permitted such entries under portions of the Game and Wildlife Code.

The Court concluded that Article I, Section 8 of the Pennsylvania Constitution provides greater privacy protections than the Fourth Amendment, extending those protections to privately owned land beyond the immediate area surrounding a home. As a result, several provisions of the Game and Wildlife Code authorizing warrantless entry onto posted private property were declared unconstitutional.

The decision stems from a lawsuit filed by Punxsutawney Hunting Club and Pitch Pine Hunting Club, which alleged that Pennsylvania Game Commission officers repeatedly entered their posted, gated properties without permission, a warrant, or probable cause while investigating potential hunting violations.

The ruling, issued on July 21, 2026, marks a significant change in Pennsylvania search-and-seizure law and will impact how Game Commission officers conduct investigations on posted private property.
