Big Fifth Inning Leads Footville Outlaws Past Grays(7/26)

Footville Outlaws defeated Grays 14-1 on Sunday at Footville thanks in part to 12 runs in the fifth inning. Joe Cox singled, scoring two runs, Tyler Aasen singled, scoring two runs, Billy Sangermano singled, scoring two runs, Rob Dimery drew a walk, scoring one run, Cox was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Chris Jones drew a walk, scoring one run, Aiden Brown induced Aasen to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Trevor Aasen singled, scoring two runs.
A single by Austin Anderson on an 0-2 count put Grays on the board in the top of the third.
Footville Outlaws took the lead in the bottom of the third. Jones singled, scoring two runs, to give Footville Outlaws the upper hand, 2-1.
Aasen earned the win for Footville Outlaws. The hurler gave up seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out nine and walking two. Brody Tschanz stepped on the hill first for Grays. The righty surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Brooks Malkow pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Footville Outlaws in relief. The righty gave up one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Footville Outlaws amassed 10 hits in the game. Aasen, Aasen, and Cox each collected two hits for Footville Outlaws. Aasen and Jones were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Footville Outlaws. Footville Outlaws had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Blake Burns, Jones, and Dimery led the team with two free passes each. Footville Outlaws turned one double play in the game.
Wyatt Werner and Tschanz were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Grays.
