Big Oil may profit from new drilling — but coastal communities pay the price. A single oil spill can devastate coastal economies for decades. Is it worth the risk?

Coastal recreation and tourism generate over $225 billion every year—nearly 3x more than the $77 billion that offshore oil and gas generate. Here's what offshore drilling really costs us:

The Trump administration's offshore drilling plan has been public for over a month now, and the comment period is flying by. We only have until January 23 to flood the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) with opposition—and every single comment counts.

Here's what's on the line:

🌊 California's entire coastline — from San Diego to the Oregon border, all proposed for new drilling
🏖️ Gulf waters off Florida — previously protected, now up for grabs
🐻 Alaska's pristine waters — including the High Arctic, where drilling has never been attempted before

Folly Beach Friends, we need your input!

We're pushing for changes to the paid meter parking on the beach. Our ultimate hope is for all meters to be free in the morning till 9:30 am !

Realistically, we're negotiating for a strong start: FREE morning parking during the OFF-SEASON. This makes a huge difference for those early walks, coffee runs, and getting out on the water.
